I'm stuck on this quest.

I talked to the ghouls upstairs and went into the basemant.
I talked to the mutant and went to the room to speak to the solo ghoul.
I went to the prison and found his friend dead.
I go back to the solo ghoul and he leaves.
I find out about the StealthBoy shipment.
I go back to the mutant.... and he ignores me for a while even though i'm trying to talk to him and then he decides to kick my ass.

I did kill some mutants on the way, so maybe i blew it? Anyone know what is going on because it doesn't make sense

Did you speak with him in regards to the stealthboy shipment before finding out what actually became of the shipment? Seems like you did everything right. It worked for me, but I know across the board folks are having very different experiences.

Yeah, i guess i must have because he gives you the key to get into the room

It's so annoying when you spend an hour or so doing a quest and can't complete.

Yeah it happened to me too the first time. I thought it was because i had Boone as companion and it may have attacked/highlighted the mutant first.
I reloaded an earlier save (Saving after every minor steps helps) and ask Boone to wait outside the room, then i went and talk to the mutant and it worked.

I'm really not sure if it has something to do with the companion tho... probably not.
