200 Years later? What are the borders?

Morrowind might offer good agricultural land for Skyrim. volcanic residue can be quite fertile

Heh, we might as well remake the map with that dinky little island as the entire province of Cyrodiil.

Could be wrong, I haven't read it myself yet, but didn't they say that the civil war in Skyrim has caused them to talk about seceding form the Empire. If that is true, then it means the Empire still exists and has some power left, at least enough hat it's helped Skyrim for this long.

I could see Skyrim, High Rock and maybe Hammerfall still being a part of the Cyrodiilic Empire. Whilst Black Marsh along with broken Morrowind unite with Elsweyr across an invaded Leyawiin to be its own beasty Empire. Also, am I right in saying that Summerset and Valenwood have united? All the while Orsinium punches a hole in the middle of things and we'll likely see them continue punching a bigger hole in the map during Skyrim :celebration:

Has everyone forgotten Orsinium? I'm pretty sure that the orcs would want an actual province for once, and being burly and such would manage it pretty easily given the circumstances.

Actually I had all but forgotten Orsinium and if I remember rumors from morrowind and oblivion both had it throwing some weight around so it is possible that they have at least a small province carved out themselves by now right in the heart of skyrim which would be all the more reason for skyrim to push on there own borders to increase landmass for refugees from areas the orcs now control ..... very interesting theory but probably completely irrelevant as most our other theory's lol

If northern Cyrodiil has been annexed into Skyrim then perhaps we'll be making another visit to Cloud Ruler Temple. What better place to return the Blades to their former glory?

I think I'll agree with Chimer_Warrior in that Morrowind won't make a appearance, however I could so Orsinium related things joining the fray. The Orcs like fighting, they've always wanted a real home and Skyrim is at war with itself - seems lake an the prime opportunity to start land-grabbing.

Yes, I think that is highly possible. It would also could be a significant part of the story and theme of the game. Also, I don't know for sure if I read it anywhere, but I always imagined the Orcs living in mostly tents, Mongolian-style tents, which would be easier to create than a large set of tileable models. They would just need one model for the exterior, one for the interior of each tent.

I'd really love to see the borders change - Skyrim taking land from other provinces like Cyrodiil and Morrowind (perhaps to include past cities like Bruma, and maybe Bruma would become a smaller town or even village in 200 years). Black Marsh taking over Morrowind's past land, etc. I think it would be really appealing to see it have unfolded like such.

I don't see the game taking place in Cyrodiil however, the geography of the place would mean that as soon as you got into even the most secluded area (Bruma) you would have to see it all which I don't see being very important... :sadvaultboy:

For some reason I thought Skyrim was set almost directly after Oblivion, was it revealed in the GI article that its 200 years later?

If so I'd love it if Skyrim included Bruma and Solsteim. Would be nice to see how those areas have changed both in terms of time and under a new game engine.

slightly OT but whats the general time gaps between all the TES games? just out of interest.

There are several problems I have with that map. First off, Orsinium doesn't even have the city of Orsinsium itself from what I tell. Second, I think a nation based around Orsinium would have a more horizontal shape as Orcs are originally from the mountains of High Rock and Hammerfell (especially the Wrothgarian and Dragontail Mountains), I don't think Orsinium would reach far north enough to be able to control Jehanna. The province of Orsinium probably at best controls the Wrothgarian Mountains and Dragontail Mountains. I don't think the Orcs would push east enough to reach Skyrim. Also, while I see Cyrodiil far weaker, it is far fetched that Cyrodiil only controls the Imperial City, especially as the Game Informer says the Skyrim Civil War will revolve around those who are pro-Empire and those who want to secede from the Empire, implying the Empire still has great power during Skyrim. Also, it's not like Cyrodiil doesn't have an army at all, especially as by Infernal City Titus Mede managaed to at least unify most of Cyrodiil at least, implying a fairly strong army, and who knows how strong they are during Skyrim.

I honestly think Vvardenfell would be completely cooled of by Skyrim. Even in Infernal City Vvardenfell could be walked on (though the Scathing Bay still bubbled).

Well, according to "The Infernal City", Morrowind is destroyed. You have a good point. After the strife have the borders changed?

Incorrect; just Vvardenfell is destroyed.

nope, debris hit the mainland too, that why the Argonians invaded, the smoke clouds didn't help either. Im positive that Morrowind is a wastleland too. Hell, the ministr of truth is big enough to create a huge blast radius, big enough to damage western skyrim. House Dres relies on their neighboring great houses for supplies and trade (slaves). So if you put it all together its one big messy situation. And Joseph, I know that map is WAY unrealistic, I put it in the OP, sorry

A brand new map would indeed be nice to lay eyes on. The borders have been practically the same for way too long.

No problem. I love taking the map of Tamriel myself and imagine highly improbable scenarios myself. There is just something about modifying maps that is fun.

What I would find interesting to occur is from the Telvanni Islands (if the Dunmer still have a prescence there, which due to it's remote location, it may have survived both the eruption and Argonian attack), the Dunmer launch a Reconquista style on the Morrowind mainland against the Argonians and slowly whittle away the Black Marsh out of Morrowind, eventually allowing the Dunmeri to control Morrowind again.

Food. The Telvanni are reclusive, but they still need food like everyone else, and the bread basket of Morrowind is not destroyed and in the hands of the Argonians. I wouldn't be surprised if some Telvanni Lords and their towers are still around, but even so, I don't think they'd care enough to reestablish anything, they're all so tied up in their own crazy affairs and experiments. Telvanni are not really the conquering type, and without food it becomes even less likely.

I seriously doubt there is any come back for Morrowind as a Dunmeri nation. Whatever the Dunmer people do after this, I think it will be separate from Morrowind.
