Fallout Tactics: BOS game glitch help

Post » Thu Jul 22, 2010 12:44 am

Hello, I recently installed FT:BOS and patch 1.27. I'm experiencing a rather strange glitch in the very first scenario. Many of the Raiders aren't showing up on the main screen, even though a red dot shows up on the map in the bottom left, indicating that somebody is there. If I force-shoot in the general area I can hit them, but they don't engage me at all.

My guess is that this might be a glitch with the sprites, but does anybody know if there is a fix for this?

Thanks!!! :)

Попробуй переустановить игру!
Вобще там недолжно быть никаких проблем в частности в версии 1,27 - она ведь последняя.

Since this is an English forum and gamesas is located in the USA, we respectfully request that English is used here for consistencies sake. Nothing against any non-English language, but the forums would become very confusing otherwise.

I'll try to translate unless Sollo doesn't see this for a while. Sollo said try to reinstall the game. There may be some problems with version 1.27 in particular and that it is the last one. It's something like that, I think. I don't know Russian, so that is a pretty rough translation

I had the issue before installing 1.27, so it's not the patch. But I will try the reinstall again.

So I'm still getting the same issue after a reinstall and redownload of patch 1.27.

Any suggestions?

If I recall correctly, I think you need a LOS to see enemies in FO:T

Do you mean line of sight?

I'm standing right in front of them (or at least where the red dots say they are) and there's nobody on screen, that's the problem.

What edition of FOT is it? One of the recent ones (like Trilogy or GOG) or maybe the original one?

Original copy. I've had it for years and played it many times, but this is the first time I've had this error.

I believe you need to install one of the earlier patches then, which fixed some graphics issues.

Ok I think I may have discovered the problem.

The sprite files for all the characters are located on CD2 (so I discovered) and I noticed that there's a .BOS file on CD2 that didn't install into the game folder on my PC.

The file is spr-character_AB.bos. There's a corrupted file in the .bos, which is RaiderMaleLarge.spr. There might also be a problem with TribalMaleLarge.spr.

Is there a way I can fix this file on the CD, or is there some way I can get a clean copy of the file?

BTW: the error i'm getting is a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) failed message.

Ok so, radscorpions aren't showing either, so it seems that most of the sprites from my CD2 are either missing or corrupted. Is there a way to fix them all or somewhere I can download the missing files I need????
