Sneak

So, at level 7, I have a sneak skill of 40. Thus far, this has been pretty much useless. Occasionally I'm able to steal something, but it hasn't helped me with combat at all. Is this skill worth investing in? I really enjoyed sneak in Oblivion, but thus doesn't seem as powerful. Do I really need to dump into it to reap any rewards? At this point, it seems like small guns is the most important skill by a million miles.

Any hit u score on an enemy while hidden, is a guaranteed critical hit. At higher levels, you will blow people's heads off. Stick with the sneak, it will save your ass on more than one occasion.

True dat, I just picked it up again a week ago and playing on very hard I need sneak. Without sneak attack critical hits and the ability to hide when indoors (and occasionally outside) I'd be in serious trouble against tougher opponents (goddamned Broken Steel and it's overlords...)

But yeah, stick with it. To be honest I didn't see anything awesome till about 80.
Also, get Silent Running if you can, it's an amazingly useful perk.
Oh and Better Criticals, +50% damage? Hells yeah.

Silent Running is godly. Combine that with Robotics expert and you can sneak up on any robot and deactivate it without a fight. Use a melee weapon while sneaking and your bascially an invisible ninja. :ninja:
