Was it ever explained who Martin's mother was?

I sincerely doubt a man like Uriel would have to pay to get some horizontal action.

Indeed. I find it more likely that THEY would be paying HIM. If we're going to talk about people paying money to bone someone, I mean.

Uriel was a sl*t. Martin's not even his first illegitimate son.

It's not even uncommon for Kings in the Real World to have lots of illegitimate offspring -they can literally have anyone they want, and I'm sure Uriel did.

Edit: damn word censor, I should be able to say [censored].

There is another.

Sorry, couldn't resist

Seriously, though, where did you acquire this information? Not to be skeptical, but if this is true, he was probably dead before the events of Oblivion.

Yeah, he tried to overthrow the government/start an uprising, then was assasinated by the Imperial Guard, apparently on Jagar's (as Uriel) orders, in the Temple of the One.

It is not ...

The late Prince-gemaal Bernard of the Netherlands (the husband of princess wilhelmina our last queen before queen beatrix) did have atleast two bastard daugthers, so it's sure not unheard off ...

On any rate Uriel might have commited advltry on a maid, or he might have a couple of concubines waiting for him in the closet near his bedroom.

For what it's worth, it's assumed James Bond was based partially on him.

Mara AKA whoever was Boromir's mom.

Actually we don't know and it really does matter because their are so many heirs to the air that is the Septim throne that Sheogorath himself could have lit the Dragonfires.

I thought Uriel was a sane man? :) The visions must have clouded his 'biological' judgement

The worse thing is, there might be another Septim running around out there, even one older/younger than Martin.
