will we be a ble to dual wield pistols in it??
I'd love to go off wield two 10 mm sub machine guns, or 2 10 mm pistols.

How about dual wielding two mini guns. Sounds cool doesn't it? It's all about what's cool or not, aye?

sure, why not, but i hope there would be some penalties, like decreased accuracy.

No, because then you're moving away from a FPRPG all the way to a FPS.

If dual wielding is in, then there should be some serious penalties. Decreased accuracy, increased spread, increased reload time. Fallout isn't a John Woo film.

sure two fat boys, why not two Louisville sluggers and two pipes, two knives, two fists, etc....

there was a reason why I said two pistols, or two sub machine guns, and not two miniguns, 2 flamethrowers etc.
and that is at most, whats in fallout, thats about all all you can wield 2 of.

although they could make a double flame thrower...

and for that matter, does OEI even come over here??

Dual weapons should be allowed for any PC, but with a penalty for accuracy based on strength. Anything under a 5 should put the PC on the ground or have his weapons fly off; Anything under 8 should barely be worth trying. A strength of 9 or 10, should still carry a stiff penalty, and for all, the reload time should be tripled.

Dual MIRVs....

I'll have to agree with Gizmo, and take it a bit further. I assume that I would be fairly accurate shooting a 10mm right-handed (I have only shot long guns). However, I, like most untrained people, would be fairly horrible left-handed. Also, unless I was going for a shotgun effect with my pistols, and wasting a ton of ammo in the process, it would take me longer to aim left handed as well. In all, I don't think dual wielding any weapon would be to your advantage. I would think that I would be much more effective taking quick, but well-aimed shots at multiple opponents with a single weapon, that trying to hit people while spraying bullets everywhere, at least until I unload. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the the world to allow dual wield, after all, I am free to jump off buildings, but the penalty for doing so should be so high, that there is no point (trade accuracy for speed, or speed for accuracy, and both trades should be very steep in cost).

Wait, you mean you want stats to have a bearing on game play ? What a concept. But then, what about the people that have STR 4, they miss out on the fun. Can't have that! :D

How about a nifty side effect... (provided you have a strength above 6), how about a + 3 to charisma for NPC reaction checks when attacked with Dual guns ~Also have that bonus reduced by 1 for each 30% of the NPC's own skill with your weapon. ( 'cuz they might look at you and just know better ).

*If the Enemy officer says something like, "Hmphh... idiot", then you know he's not fully affected by it.
