The Pre-Order Packs... ?

Post » Thu Jul 22, 2010 5:46 pm

Confusion and aggravation have mixed themselves into my original excitement of the games fast approaching arrival...

Well thanks for nothing Bethesda...

I'm sorry, but this seriously enrages me.
I do not live in the US, nor do I plan to buy the PC version, basicly excluding me from all the 4 "packs".

I do realise that none of these items are essential to the game experience, but that is hardly the point.
I have been a fan, and a loyal customer for years, and being screwed over like this is a huge and painful slap in the face!

I'm sorry Bethesda, even though I love you, this insult forces me to rethink our relationship.

However, on a less ranted and judgemental view. Will the items be obtainable in the game?

What?

Pre-order items will be world-wide and for each platform. Every item that isn't marked pre-order exclusive, ie, the binoculars, can be obtained in-game.

Even if they weren't available world-wide, if you were to start boycotting a company due to not being able to get a lame preorder pack than that says a lot about the kind of person you are.

Maybe so, however, all but one of the packs are US only, not European. Also Amazon is worldwide. So there are no European exclusives, where as there are American exclusives when all is said and done.

+ thanks for clearing the binoculars up for me.

there has always been a time gap between US and Europe when it comes to games, if companies like Gamestop have stores in your country then trust me they will have there pre order specials, it′s just they are officially announced later.

The fact that you are using boycotting in the wrong way, and that you are extremely single minded, says a lot about the kind of person you are. And without passing too much judgement im pretty sure if you are a member of this forum you, yourself have probably pre ordered the 'lame preorder pack'

just like when america got the DLC early for fallout 3, you are not taking the bonuses you get from fallout games, but being stubbern.

I said if you were to boycott, not that you were doing it. And yes, I am going to get one of those packs, but I was going to preorder the game anyway. I'm sorry if I sounded rude, and I can understand the frustrations you have, I was just referring to the "rethink our relationship" thing you said.

It is an American game, made by American developers and about... America. That might be why there are American exclusives.

That being said, EBAY and other auction sites are always an option for getting things like pre-order codes.

Fair enough, however if I were to buy it of EBAY, the chances are that the code had already been renewed.
Just because you made it doesn't mean only you can have it. seriously, that is really really stereotypical of you guys,

You can have my pre-order pack. Personally, I don't care about pre-order specials, they're always nowhere as good as they sound at first.

I'm just preordering because I can. As an avid Texas Hold 'Em player, I'm in it for the collectors edition and the fallout playing cards and poker chips.

Entertainment internationally is just like that. For example, what is the problem with letting Americans see an episode of Doctor Who on the same day as Britain gets it? Why can't we see a movie that's already been released in a different country? It's bothersome but it seems like it isn't going to change any time soon.

Careful now... No one's bashing Europeans here.

Sometimes living in a different part of the world means that you can't get things easily from other parts of the world.

I'm a huge fan of Epitafios, but since they only air it on South American HBo, I can't watch it.

That being said: If Bethesda didn't want to distribute the game anywhere but America, that'd be their prerogative. Fortunately for you, they choose to let people in other countries partake.

last time I checkt it′s the distributor not the developers that choose where a game is sold or not, second it would be flat out stupid for a company to make a game exclusive to it′s native country.

so Beth far from let other countries play there games, there forced to in a competitive industry

Bethesda is the distributor (aka Producer). Obsidian is the developer. Besides, if they wanted to make it one country exclusive they could.

Who cares really. I will have forgotten about the pre-order pack 30 seconds after I started playing. It isn't even significant. ^_^

Don't understand all the angst about pre-order crap. After how lousy the pre-order stuff was for Mass Effect 2 (and almost every game I got pre-order junk with in the 90s-00s), I'm not even bothering with this stuff.

It's really nothing to get worked up about.
