The Blackwater Mercenaries

Post » Thu Jul 22, 2010 4:18 pm

Years ago, Aiden Williams moved into Grayditch, and created from what began as a small group to a well known and respected mercenary group in the wasteland. The group moved into an old business building south of the Citadel, in DC. After a regrettable trek to Point Lookout to lose two of his men, he soon returned back to DC. They brought back an enormous person, named Red, who was deformed, but powerful. He was the newest entry into the group, because of his help and dedication. They began getting contract after concract, and became notorious. One of the group's gunmen, Dakayev Solek, was growing better and better when performing contracts, and was promoted to second in command. Dakayev and Aiden finally gave the squad a name: the Blackwater Mercenaries.

1: No ubering
2: No power armor or strong armor
3: No drunk/stupid characters, that means you can't misspell on purpose or act dumb like: "frank walkde in 2 the room adn knoked over a pot n sez,'hEy, were's the booze lololololol' then he fell ovar and passde out"
4: No mega-weapons like a fat-man or alien blaster
5: No controlling unless you have permission from the person(Don't just say you have permission, I will ask that person to see if you're lying or not)
6: You can't kill someone's character unless you have permission(As said above, I will find out if you're telling the truth)
7: BE ORIGINAL!! I'm sick and tired of everybody's character being an ex-BoS and an assassin who does whatever the hell he wants and his whole family is dead and he swares revenge. It's not that hard to make up a REAL history.
8: Don't disrespect others, it's rude and you will get kicked out for it. That means, no: Insulting, vular behavior, cursing out, sixual harrassment, and various other things.. you know the deal.
9: Try not to have six, I may allow it on some cases, but never go into detail. Just say you went in, did your business, and came out.
10: Romance is allowed, but don't go too far. Violence is allowed as well, but I don't want to know about the human anatomy, okay?

OOC: Now, before we go on we have to figure out what we're going to do. Just put out your suggestions and ideas and we can all vote on what we do. I'll start first.. I was thinking maybe to go to a small city shortly south of the Capital Wasteland. The whole place is overrun with Feral Ghouls, and almost all the population is dead. The few left are hiding in their homes with their doors locked, starving and waiting for help. Others have tried to kill off the ghouls, but have obviously failed. There were even some unlucky enough to be attacked by Glowing Ones and Reavers so badly that they turned to ferals and ghouls themselves. Comments?

Your suggestion is pretty good, but what is the reason we are going there. A contract or maybe a member was out scouting and got trapped?

OOC: I like that idea, the first mission to do with ghouls could be a great idea. Then we could try and... Ooh, I have an idea. We could be hunting down certain types of creatures at different times perhaps? Like now, we're hunting down ferals. Next mission we could be hunting down muties, mission after that we could be hunting down raiders...?

I like your idea though Pilot, I agree with that one.

OOC: Seems like a good idea to me PLR. But like Joe stated, we need a reason to be going out there. I like the idea of attempting to rescue a member of the team. This would be a great starting point. More importantly it'd give each of us a chance to convey our character's actions, motives, etc. before our first real contract.

Perhaps we could also ramp up the danger of each excursion like Lachon was implying. Zombies now and who knows, maybe raiders or other hostile mercenary groups next.

(OOC)The mayor radioed on a HAM radio a distress message and mentioning a reward to anyone who comes and helps. The frequency manages to reach the Blackwater Mercs' radios, and normally wouldn't. It did because their Technician and Medic has made a huge radio from several HAM radios and home radios, which can pull in frequencies from hundreds of miles away.

Remember to use OOC because this is still a RP thread.

Aiden was sitting at the table, chewing on Brahmin steak and sipping whiskey. No longer feeling hungry, he got up and pulled on his leather coat. He entered the discussion room, which had a long wooden table with several seats for each member on the sides. Aiden sat on his leather seat at the end of the table, which was placed conveniently next to a projector. Aiden pressed the button on the table in front of him, which sounded the intercom of Aiden's pre-recorded message notifying everyone of a meeting.

Surely nobody was busy, since it was early in the afternoon. As usual, Roy was the first in. He plopped in his seat and began clearing up his glasses. Next was Dakayev, who had a cigarette hanging on his lip, and had his Ushanka's sideflaps down. Following was Gabrielle and Red. Aiden awaited the rest while Dakayev and Gabrielle went on with their usual arguing.

As the message blared out through the base I dropped what I was doing, which was sharpening my axe with a flint; instead partaking to getting to the meeting early for once. Making my way calmly through the base and efficiently I made it to the Meeting Room, a few people were already there and seemed to be settling in or arguing. Nodding at Aiden I sat down in a chair off on it's own, no one else really liked me except for Aiden and I took that into consideration.

At one point far back I actually tried to kill Aiden's group, but then again, that was because of who they were. Since I'd joined the group we'd avoided a few fights with locals in tribes and people who were peaceful but seemed agressive. I could pick up a few things, but my only weakness if there was one that anybody could put a bullet in my head. It was just luck so far that had saved my extremely difficult life.

Leaning back into the chair I resisted the urge to sigh and closed my eyes, remembering back to a time when I lived in a cold wet marshland. A smile broke over my face as I thought of how it felt to have to surive each and every night of my life. Sighing again I brought myself back to the present but kept myself zoned out, waiting for Aiden to start talking.

Yasgurr entered the room and sat in a secluded part of the table. Aiden never understood why Yasgurr didn't want to be social. It might've been because of the fact that he had threatened Aiden several times and attempted to kill him. It was a miracle that Yasgurr decided to join, and somehow, Aiden thought it was Red's generosity(and locale) that somehow got Yasgurr to join. As long as Yasgurr didn't go killing other Blackwater members, Aiden was completely fine with Yasgurr around, and Yasgurr was probably happy to be there too, especially since Aiden payed him for contracts.

Conner staggered into the conference room, mumbling random words and phrases. He quickly found his seat and slammed down upon it with his behind. He raised his hand so that he could scratch his dimpled chin, forgetting that he had his mask on.

"Awgh. Sorry guys but I am having a bit of the Irish flu. My head is achin' something horrid." He removed his gas mask to finish his itching. Once done, he rubbed his forehead and massaged his temples. I have somethin' to fix this headache! Conner raised out of his chair slightly so that he could dig into his dusty pockets, and take out a rusted tin can that had "Mentats" written on the side. He looked inside and noticed one left, and popped it into his mouth, he took a deep breath of relief.

He looked around the table, and noticed a few of the other mercenaries glance at him. Conner didn't care, he was always the laid back guy in the group. Drinkin' was what made him happy. He took another look, noticing Yasgurr's newly sharpened axe that was laid on the table. The only thing Conner could say in his head was [censored]e!

He looked towards the door, and heard footsteps from members approaching the conference room. He then looked at Aiden, whom had Conners respects, waiting for his carefully chosen words.

John looked up as he heard the intercom came to life and told them of a meeting. He got up and made his way to the meeting room, John was a recent member, having come across the backwater mercenaries on one of his own contracts. Entering the meeting room, John could see that a number had aready gotten there before him, the ones that had been with the group for some time and the strange one which had been picked up in point lookout. John eyed the man, he was huge and gave off a strange vibe, it was not someone you would like to meet at night.

John took a chair and sat on, pulling out a carton of cigarettes, John wrapped his lips around one and pulled it out. Placing the box back into his pocket, John pulled a pack of matches from another pocket and igniting a match John lit his cigarette. Waving the match to put it out, John lent back and placed his feet on the table, waiting to be told what they have gathered for.

Red noticed that while John entered, he glared at him. Red gave a big toothy grin, and let out his deep southern voice.

"Hey 'dere, yer name's John, is it? I dun believe I ever got the chance ta talk to ya. No need t' be freaked out or none, I don't bite." he said, laughing. He took a bottle of beer from his pocket with his large arm and uncapped it with his less-mutated arm. "Ya know, it doedn't hurt ta speak yer piece."

Gilford awoke to the blaring message that resonated through the entire hall. A meeting in the meeting room? How fitting. In all truth Thompson was glad he'd waken up. His experience out in the treacherous ruins of DC had all but left a gnarly scar onto his psyche. Hauntings of the agony, pain, and belligerence that befell those days had plagued his sleep ever since. Gilford sat up and for a minute contemplated his current situation. The Blackwater Mercenaries had delivered on their promises. He got food and water on arrival and this satisfactory cot at that. But with that he had to promise his services and loyalty. Bonds within these groups were made out in shed tears, sweat, and blood. Was Gilford willing to participate in such activity. Was giving up his soul and morality worth preserving his measely existence? Thompson couldn't answer that question right here and then. He had to let the bodily functions work their magic.

Getting up from his cot he produced his bent and out of shape 10mm pistol. Touching the slide sent chills down Thompson's spine. There was something to be told about guns that made Gilford cringe. Then again, he thought, anything that made you a god had some type of repercussion on your soul. He reluctantly put the pistol into his pocket, an otherwise awkward and unprofessional place to put it, and headed towards to the meeting room. Each step felt one closer to requiem. But look at it positively Thompson, he thought, at least you can go out like John Wayne!

The moment of truth, the door was at a foot's step. It seemed like a rabble of butterflies fluttered in his stomach. Gilford manned up and entered the room. Burly men of all shapes and sizes greeted him. Thompson could not begin to describe the faces he saw. The history, he thought, the battles and excursions each men must've endured. A full length novel could probably be written from their tales. He felt an odd sense of admiration yet disgust. It couldn't be described...

"Good afternoon gentlemen." Gilford bellowed as he waved to the crowd, quickly finding an empty seat. What adventures would come of this? Gilford obviously didn't know. At least he could think about it on a night's rest and a full stomach.

((OOC: Just to say, I did in my bio, John doesn't tell anyone his name is John, only telling them it's Enfield, so call him that in future please.))

John took the cigarette out his mouth and allowed some smoke to tumble from it, "We there are far stranger things then you out there," John said, "And if you're here, it is not my decision, other then that, what is there to say?" John tapped his cigarette, allowing some of the ash to drop onto the floor before sticking it back into his mouth. John himself hadn't never met someone from the swamps, and the romours had been heard about them, though nothing had been confirmed with John's own eyes, though John wouldn't of been suprised if some of it was true.

Aiden saw as finally the last man entered the room.

"Hey, Gilford." Aiden said, smiling. "Alright, everyone, settle down." Aiden commanded, and slowly everyone got silent. "Alright, so, me and Dakayev have decided to start doing contracts as a full team. It gets the job done quicker, and everyone gets a slice of the pie, at least if you consider caps as pie. Anyway, you may take in private contracts, but you must consult me, Dakayev, or the least agreeable, Gabrielle." Aiden turned to her, and she responded with a thumbs-up.

"And, well, these group contracts would take, literally, forever to get to the locations. Why would it take long? Because we're taking contracts that aren't even in the Capital Wasteland. And, to make it all better, Dakayev has 'acquired' a vertiberd. You can take it from here, Dakayev." Dakayev sat up in his chair and cleared his throat.

"Yeah, I got a vertiberd from the Enclave. Well, to tell the truth, I was on a contract and the Enclave got in my way. Their camp was preventing me from my target, so I killed the troops. Just so happens they had a vertiberd sitting around, and I entered it. I read the manual thing and managed to fly it back here, soooo... We now have full access to a high-tech vertiberd. Hell, Roy's even read the manual head to toe, and is officially our pilot." A few of the others seemed surprised of the success.

"I will be able to fly it as soon as possible." Roy said.

"Alright, before the meeting is over, does anyone have anything to say? Anything going on that we should know about?" Aiden asked.

"Yeah, that we should get off our asses and go." added Aaron, now entering the room. The blonde haired sniper always made a habit of being late.

Aiden stared at Aaron curiously.

"What are you talking about? Where the hell do you expect us to go?" Aiden blurted out. Just as it was beginning to get silent, Roy jerked his head to the door.

"I hear the radio- something's picking up." he said excitedly. He got out of his seat and ran to the room next door to check on the radio. Aiden followed. As he entered the room, he could see Roy turning the volume knob all the way up. At first, it was all static. Then a voice came in.

"Th-.. Oh, [censored].." the voice paused before the man talking cleared his throat. "This is Mayor Gregg Holmes of Sanford, Rockland.. Our town.. It's.. Well, everyone's dead.. Feral Ghouls are everywhere.. Please, if anyone is out there.. I need your help. I can pay you- I have just about every kind of currency around- beads, buttons, caps, woods, anything.. I have a huge supply of all and I am willing to give a huge amount to anyone who can save my town.."

The broadcast cut out. Roy turned to Aiden, who had now left the room and went into the meeting room.

"New announcement, we will be leaving for a contract by tomorrow morning, so get ready." Aiden told. "You're all dismissed."
