Who was the founder of the Moth Priest Order?
And to which Divine are the monks dedicated?
Although the practice of catching the fjyron (or "will to peace") of an ancestor spirit in the silk from a gypsy moth indigenous to the Nibenay Valley known as an "ancestor moth" dates back to the early Cyro-Nordic 1st Era, it was the early Nibenese that transformed the practice into the "Cult of the Ancestor-Moth" which began using chanting and mantras. Withstanding the religious upheaval of the War of Righteousness, the Cult persisted and only became assimilated into the School of Julianos as an established Order at the command of Tiber Septim himself much later. The newly established "Order of the Ancestor Moth" was charged with the duty of being the custodians and interpreters of the Elder Scrolls themselves due to the Moth Priests' ability to "sing the future into the present", a fitting place for the Order, considering that Julianos is also the god of sorcery and enchantment. (See http://www.imperial-library.info/tsomw/mw_5.shtml)
Thus the Order was likely dedicated to the same ancestor worship exhibited by many early races, and only later becoming consolidated into being a branch focusing its efforts to the glory of Julianos.
Hope this helps, muthsera.
