Game Delay

Post » Fri Jul 23, 2010 10:59 am

I personally think the final relase date for the game is going to be sometime in February 2012. This is just my opinion. Most good games get delayed. Who else thinks it will be delayed?

Nah, I don't think it will get delayed. I think Bethesda is actually much closer to being finished than 10 months. They wouldn't have set a date unless they knew they would have plenty of extra time to make sure it is finish. With that I think the game might actually be almost finished and they are tweaking it and refining it now.

Bioware better hope it gets delayed into 2012! :D

Muahahahahhaa! :chaos:

And I'm almost positive it won't be delayed. The devs have even stated on this forum that they are 100% sure it will release on the 11th of November.

Which is why 11.11.11 is the only data possible

Nah, they could push it back to 12.12.12 easily.

But the only reason to push it back is for bugfixes or testing, and Bethesda's track record shows that...

...naaaaahh, that's like shooting fish in a barrel.

If it would be delayed would be hoping they found some bugs and would be fixing them? Due to how FNV is currently being critized?

Has Bethesda ever not postponed the release of one of their games?

I can't speak about other games but I know Morrowind was given a 2001 release date. It was released in 2002.
Oblivion was given a 2005 release date. It was released in 2006.
Given this pattern, I expect Skyrim will be released in 2012.

For some reason Bethesda wants to release it on this date. For their other releases it was always "4th quarter" or "Winter of '11" I don't ever recall Bethesda giving a specific date so far in advance.

I am worried, because of this. Morrowind was held back. Oblvion was held back. I forget about Daggerfall. We all know how buggy those games were apon release. So if Skyrim doesn't get held
back, I am really worried for many major bugs. Hopefully this will not be the case, but do we expect Skyrim not to be buggy? (Hey another poll idea :hubbahubba: )

I would much rather they they delay it than release a buggy product like Obsidian/Bethesda did with New Vegas. So not fun to play games bugged to hell.

No, if Bethesda decided to release the game 11/11/11 and announce the release exactly 11 months before, I think they have the game more than ready to meet that date. My best guess is that the game will be completely done by June and they spend time on bugs and glitches until then.

I highly doubt it most 'good' games as you put it are released by companies that take about two years to put out games. Bethesda has been working on Skyrim for awhile now. Not only that but as others have said, 11.11.11 is a date that is far to cool to pass up. If I were them and there was one bug left but they couldn't release it until 11.12.11 I would go ahead and release it and then patch it the next day haha.

Nah. They have final hardware to work with this time. Not only that, but they have loads of experience with the platforms this time around, and a very stable base to work off of. It's not as wild and uncertain as it was with Oblivion. The only possible issue is if they try and pull a Lionhead Studios on us, and bite off more than they can chew, but I think Beth knows what they are capable of.
