Another attempt at being original

Post » Sat Jul 24, 2010 4:44 am

Now this is an idea I have been working on for a few weeks now, and am thinking that I am ready to have a go at this. But first I would like some opinions and see if anyone has been interested.

The Basic Story: A stranger has appeared in the wasteland and is travelling form settlement to settlement looking for the most pathetic and hopeless individuals he can find. Each of these individuals will be invited to play a in a poker tournament. It will be a Texas Hold em tourney for which the stranger(my character) will be the dealer. The winner of the tourney will be granted one wish as his prize. As for the losers...let's just say that there will be hell to pay.

Now before you ask the most pertinent question, yes, I have actually come up with a way to run a poker tourney in RP form. So in other words, this will be a real poker game.

Questions and opinions welcome.

How many rounds do you intend for us to have? Will you have it so that we have so for instance, 3 rounds in RP time and then you skip it ahead or something? Cause if we had a full-blown game then we'd have to betting lots of money to have in realistic times...

Either way, I'd be up for this like anything. ;)

All the players will be given the same amount of chips. The hands will be played out in full, so there will be a posting order that will have to be followed. Once your chips are gone, you're out There will be blinds involved and they will go up at certain poiints throughout the RP. I hope that's what you meant.

Well, judging by the lack of response, i'm guessing no one is interested in this. I can understnad if some of you are skeptical, but I ahve done a test run of this with a couple of my friends, and I know this can work.

Believe it or not, that is actually part of the point of this. As none of the charcters would be professional poker players. Besides that, ever hear of beginner's luck.
