The Wasteland Hitman: A Fallout Fan Fiction.

((This is basically about a Hitman and his life in the Wasteland. I haven't writtin anything in awhile so I take responsibility if the story is stale. The Main Character is nearly exactly like Agent 47 from the Hitman Series. I hope you enjoy, constructive criticism is welcome.))

PROLOGUE

The word depression defines the Wasteland in an instant. If you were just an average Wastelander your chances of survival were one in a million. The Brotherhood of Steel was an organisation that had descended from the original troops back West. The East Coast were exactly the opposite of their original troops, they were more helpful towards Wastelanders.

Then there was the Enclave. They were a shadow militaristic organization that’s goals were to cleanse the Wasteland of Ghoulification and Mutation. They believed they would one day restore the rubble and chaos back to the old America. It never seemed plausible though. People had their doubts about the Enclave, but even before the Enclave could prove themselves a man known as the Lone Wanderer crushed their dreams.
He destroyed everything the Enclave had worked so hard for, and in the end destroyed their operation. He and his Brotherhood associates ended out the victors and heroes of a full fledged war, or so they thought...

The Enclave still had remnants in America and they had a second plan to turn to if their original operation went wrong. A man known as Mark Price was the most notorious assassin in the Wasteland. He assassinated the legend known as Herbert ‘Daring’ Dashwood, Reilly of Reilly’s Rangers and Scientist Dr.Zimmer.
Colonel Augustus Autumnn was spared by the Lone Wanderer during the events of 2277. Autumnn has returned but is seeking refuge. He’s put a hit on The Lone Wanderer, and wants it to be public. Autumnn a former Enclave leader, now hidden until his most fiercest rival has perished.
Autumnn had the ties to hire the most notorious Hitman the Wasteland had ever witnessed. Mark Price was created by the Enclave as a project to develop enhanced assassins.

He was the only successful result of the operation. Price assassinated the infamous Brotherhood leader Owyn Lyons just three years ago. He never even left a trace behind, his work was always clean. Autumnn authorized his creation and so he knew how to work around the assassin. Price resided in Tenpenny Tower as an associate of Mr Burke’s. He was at a meeting with Mr Burke inside his penthouse suite as Burke offered him a contact.[/font]

CHAPTER ONE

"Mark, I have a request a very personal contract in which I need your assistance in."

Price raised an eyebrow as he began to fix his tie.

"Will it pay well? Give me some intel."

Burke snarled as he handed Price a document.

"The man's name is Eulogy Jones, the head slaver of Paradise Falls. He's enslaved my cousin named Graham. Paradise Falls is heavily guarded so you'll have to blend in to get his attention. 500,000 caps is my final offer the biggest sum of money you've ever been offered I guarantee."
Price smiled.

"1,000,000 for killing Lyons but half of that will suit me perfectly so I accept. I'll have it finished within three weeks, so be patient. I'll set off a dawn."

Burke raised his hand as Mark left he called his name.

"Mark don't let me down, I've sacrificed alot for this."

Price gnarled his teeth, as he reached into his pocket he grabbed an envelope and threw it over to Burke.

"The contents of that paper aren't to be revealed until my work is over. I've known you a long time. You're the only man I can trust."

Price left the suite and walked slowly down the stairs. Price always looked smart. He was bald, and wore a black sit with a red tie, and black leather gloves. His shoes were always top class, mostly because he bought his clothes at Potamic Attire. He opened the door outside and saw Gustavo with his hands held over his head, he looked distraught. Price approached him as he offered him assistance.

"What's wrong Gustavo? You seem.. edgy."

Gustavo's eyes were gleaming red.

"They killed him. They killed my son, you're one of them you ignorant [censored]. How dare you! How dare you ask me what's wrong."

Gustavo reached his fist out as he clobbered Price onto the floor. Gustavo began choking him. Price gasping for breath as he reached into his holster and retrived his Silverballer pistol.

BANG!

He shot Gustavo into the stomach, Gustavo backed away as he put his hands on the wound. Price grasped his gun.

"I'm sorry, but you've given me no choice."

He approached the wounded, and seemingly already dead inside Gustavo. Gustavo gave him a nod which signified he gave Price his permission to end it.
Price had him in point blank range as he fired the bullet into Gustavo's skull. Gustavo died within an instant from the shot. He dragged Gustavo's body into a rubbish bin. The other guards were at lunch break, Price fled the scene and headed to an old friends shack in the Scrapyard.[

CHAPTER TWO

Price knocked on the shack, as he awaited a reply. Daniel Littlehorn a former employer of Price’s opened the door and invited him.

“Mark, it’s been a long time my old friend. Well c’mon in.”

Price walked in and surveyed his surrounding’s, it seems Littlehorn’s company had ended since it was just a mattress, a dog, and other household items.

“What happened Daniel? What happened to this place? Has the company distorted?”

Daniel shrugged his shoulders.

“Yes we’ve disengaged away from the company. Its only me left here with my dog. I asked you to come here for a reason.”

Price looked confused.

“Why then?”

Daniel sat down on his bed.

“I have one more assignment for you, well since I was a part of the Enclave I’ll rephrase it to The Enclave requires your help.”

Price looked enraged.

“No! I only serve Colonel Autumnn, the Enclave’s true leader. He’s disappeared which means I no longer serve the Enclave.”

Daniel chuckled.

“That’s the thing my friend, Augustus is back. He’s here.”

A spark lit up in Price’s eye.

“What do you mean he’s here?”

A tall, grey haired man walked out of a door. Autumnn smirked as he approached Price.

“It’s good to see my work didn’t go to waste.”

Price giggled as he gestured his seat to Autumnn.

“It’s good to see you sir. I began to lose faith in the Enclave”

“Mark I’m no longer affiliated with the Enclave my work with them is over. I’m alone, and I’ve only been given a few months to live due to a new disease caused by radiation. In my last request I ask you deliver my final task.”

Autumnn said with great pride.

Price sighed.

“No you can’t die! You’re my creator.”

“That may be, but I’m human. When I die my legacy will be left behind and I’ll be revered as a hero.”

Price stood up.

“Ok, I’ll do whatever you ask. What do you ask of me?”

“The man known as ‘The Lone Wanderer’ destroyed my hopes and dreams he destroyed the Enclave and everything we had sacrificed. He must die, and you must retrieve the modified G.E.C.K so we can save humanity from the brink of destruction.”

Price looked uneasy, as he stroked his chin.

“I’ll do it, but for no man will I leave a fee go unwarranted. I’m sorry sir, but admiration will only get you so far. I’ll need caps.”

Autumnn laughed.

“We’ve trained you well. Every Colonel in the Enclave is paid with wealth and caps. I’m offering you five million caps, the biggest fee you’ll ever receive. This will be only if you get the job done, and leave no ties to me. Remember this man is nothing but evil, he’s from Vault 101 where those narcissistic idiots only care about themselves. You shouldn’t have moral issues here. He’s a thug anyway."

“Autumnn the thought of five million caps sends a shiver down my spine. He’ll be dealt with severely. I have some ears on the inside, someone who works for the Brotherhood that provides me intel. He’s basically a rat. He’ll help get me in undercover, I’ll get the job done in no time. It shouldn’t be a problem. I have one more contract aswell, but that can go on hold."

Autumnn extended his hand.

“This person who is on the inside cannot be trusted, remember the people who you think are your friends turn out to be your worst enemies. I wouldn’t trust this man, but it’s up to you.”

Mark shook his hand as he walked out the door, he took one more look at his maker before leaving the shack. It was getting late and he needed to get ready for tomorrow. Price got on his Brahmin carriage as he rode back to Tenpenny Tower.

Thanks for the enthusiam. I think at the moment Mark and Josh have the biggest hatred for each other. It'll be good to see the very first encounter. It'll provide the backstory of why you still have family alive, I hope you'll enjoy it.

CHAPTER THREE

He waited outside as peered in through the gate, he saw the guards lying down in bed as he entered. He jolted backwards as a face popped out in front of him. A security guard confronted him.

“Sorry Mark I didn’t mean to scare ya’. Did you know anything about what happened to Gustavo? We haven’t seen him all day.”

Price kept a calm expression.

“Nope, I haven’t seen him since Yesterday.”

“That’s okay Mark, proceed.”

He entered the building, and went straight into his room. Susan Lancaster was lying on his bed.

“Come here baby, I’ll show you a good time.”

Mark grabbed her leg and began twisting it. She started to yell in pain, as he put a gag in her mouth.

“Get out now! I’ll kill you if you don’t.”

She sprung up out of the bed and ran outside. Mark locked his door as he checked his laptop for anything of use. His laptop was one of few given to Enclave employees of the past or present. His intel Alex Smith was waiting to transmit some information. Mark accepted the feed.

“Hello Mark, recent information has told us former Colonel of the Enclave Augustus Autumnn has returned to the Capital Wasteland. As a close associate of his, we assume you’d know something of use. DO you know where he is? He is in breach of agreement and must be prosecuted.”

Mark reacted swiftly.
“He is? This is the first I heard of it, I’m happy he’s returned but what he did was out of order. If I hear anything I’ll tell you, is that okay?”

Alex knew even if Mark was bluffing he’d never tell him anything, but since it was a precautionary measure he had to ask anyway. Alex ended the feed as Mark sorted his briefcase. He took his W2000 Sniper Rifle and lowered down into parts. He took his SMG tactical, and his sidearms his trademark Silverballers. He grabbed his syringes and some pain killers. Along with other items his briefcase consisted of;

W2000 Sniper Rifle Silenced with Maximum Scope effect.
2x Silverballer Laser dot Silenced pistols
1x Smg Tactical silenced
10x Stimpacks
3x Health Syringes
2x Poisin Syringes
1x Pain Killers
700,000 Caps
Ammo for selected weapons
Intel chip to communicate with Autumnn

He packed the case as he folded his clothes for the morning. He laid back in bed with an intent to kill the most famous person the Capital Wasteland has witnessed. His virtues were clear, Death his tool, Stealth his Creed and Secrecy his refuge. He would have to be patient if he was to complete this mission. But something inside him, a gut feeling made him feel uneasy. He ignored at as he fell asleep.

((Okay to avoid some confusion Price wasn't the only succesful clone. Another clone was developed and hidden away from Autumnn for reasons you'll soon find out.))

CHAPTER FOUR

It was now morning, Price was suited up as he grabbed his briefcase and left the tower. He was going to meet his inside ears Irvine who was an Paladin within the Brotherhood, but really was the only other successful assassin created by the Enclave. Not just one which man had assumed. Irvine Gallows was just like Mark. He feels, acts, see’s the same as Price as their habits barely differ. Irvine arranged to meet Mark at Rivet City.

Mark was nearly there, he was walking by Project Purity as two Super Mutans trolled down at him. He grabbed his Silverballers and got the laser into the eye he pulled the trigger eight times as the Mutant fell. The other Mutant was not as weak as its brother. It smacked Mark in the leg with a Sleghammer. Mark dropped his weapons as the Mutant had him isolated, a situation Mark had never got himself into before.

A long, excessive gun sound drove the Mutant back as he was cut into particles. A tall man in Power Armor helped Mark up.

“Thank you, I thought I was gone.”

The man in Power Armor took off his helmet and revealed himself to be Gallows.

“It’s been a long time old friend. How are you keeping?”

Mark picked up his pistols and put them into his briefcase.

“I’m doing well for myself, how’s the little ladies in power armor doing?”

Gallows yawned as they walked down the path to Rivet City.

“They’re getting suspicious of me, those idiots think I’m one of them.”

“Have you found away for me to get in?”

“Yes Mark I have, I told you not to worry. I told them your my brother, and I gave them this boring story how it was your aspiration and dream to join the Brotherhood of Steel. Those idiots believed me, The Wanderer is in charge of things now. Sarah just stormed out, she said she had enough of it. Let’s get you a room in Rivet City, I have someone keeping Power Armor stored in there anyway. We can chat inside.”

The two men crossed the bridge and entered the upper deck swiftly. Vera Weatherly gave Price the key as both men entered the room. Price locked the door.

“Can I trust you with something Irvine?”

Gallows threw his Power Helmet on the bed.

“We’re basically brothers, of course you can!”

“I’m feeling a bit uneasy about all this. It’s all happening so fast. “
Price muttered as he unpacked his cloths and hung them up in the wardrobe.

“Don’t worry Mark, once this is over me and you can put all this behind and head to the Commonwealth. Now take this power armor and Minigun. I know it’s a bit different from the stealth aspect we were brought up in, but you’ll have to make use of it.”

Price left the briefcase on the bed as he put on the armor and helmet. He grabbed the Minigun as the two power armoured soldiers left the room and headed outside. They headed to the Citadel as they took the long route to get Mark used to DC.

“Ok Mark, we’re gonna’ encounter some Mutants on the way. You’ve dealt with them before, so it’s not worry to you.”

A few minutes later...

The two men were walking slowly as they saw three mutants in the distance. They got ready as the Mutants ran at them. They pulled back the lever on the Minigun, as bullets plunged at the Mutants topping their heads off with ease. The last one was limping towards them, as Gallows laughed.

“Look he’s got a sore leg, who [censored] cares. Let’s destroy this thing.”

Both men aimed for the monsters head as they dismembered it. They were near the Citadel as it was getting dark. They ventured down the road of rubble as Gallows instructed Mark to act normal when he initiates conversation with other members of the Brotherhood.

“I assure you, for the sake of this operation, I’ll play along.”
