But why can you make a gun that's reduces damage to zero? :l
I guess (but this comes totally out of the blue), that all weapons share the same minimum damage (let's say it's 5). So after a certain distance every weapon will deal the same damage (this certain distance is unique to every weapon though). After the max range of the weapon, it won't be able to deal damage at all, of course.
So if you customise your weapon in a way that it deals "zero" damage, this just means it deals the same (minimal) damage throughout it's firing range.
A minimal HUD option would great.
Didn't they mention they want to add an option which blends out UI-Elements when they're not active?

About the Dev-Diary:
What really caught my eye was this:
"chatting with some hardcoe PC players revealed a little secret: when playing online matches on the PC, they would disable all ambient sounds so they could hear the footsteps of their enemies"
and a little later:
"For starters, each weight class has its own selection of footsteps, so you can hear if that’s a light, medium, or heavy body-type coming around that next corner just by the sound of their footsteps." & "we recorded everything from the Foley of clothing (which actually changes depending on how much clothing you have on your character)"
So they obviously allow us the sound[censored].
But on a so very detailed stage, that some players will probably be able to tell if 'The Fortress' or 'The Anger' is about to come around the corner? That's impressive!
"When you hear a Browning M1918 medium machine gun chugging, coughing and clacking its way through a belt of .30 ammunition, it sounds very different from a modern weapon like an M249 Minimi firing 5.56mm ammo (but we recorded that too, just in case)."
 Just in case.
Also this sounds great:
"an entire second range of iron-sighted sounds for each weapon, which feel distinctly more mechanical and “closer to the inner workings” than their hip-shooting counterparts"
Not only it will most likely be louder firing while ADSing, but also sound different! Amazing!
Gonna watch the video now.
EDIT: Wow, I think I came a little on that shotgun slide at ~0:37.
Also this video gives a lot of insight on many hot topics in this forums.
FIRST - Death Animations
It actually seems that the avatars do use the same animation over and over again.
So even though the overall quality of animations in BRINK appears to be superb, this is a minor letdown.
(Also characters do react on bullet impacts.)
SECOND - Accents
I
believe the second voice acting we hear (
"I am ready!") is either a French or German accent.
THIRD - Weapon Skins (has been mentioned in this thread already)
There seem to be lots and lots of weapon skins. The least are basic.
I've seen a zebra-paintjob for the Heavy Machinegun, a red-base yellow-star (soviet style?) paintjob for an Assault Rifle and some funny Shark-paintjob for a revolver.
The Shotgun can be used with a silencer.
