((Francois, is your avatar the same kind of build your using here? :P It seems like it.))

Mark stumbled to his feet as he fell once again. The effects of the whiskey he had drank lastnight to drown his depression was taking it's towl. He saw the picture on the floor, the picture in which made him feel human. The one person he loved a girl who he shared a night of passion with. Love was his weakness, not for any person just for women. He always cared about them and never treated them with disrespect. He grasped the picture knowing he could not touch her face he tore it apart and let out a huge grunt as he tore the room apart. He grabbed his pistols and walked outside.

He wrote a note and left it on the table it read:

Dear team,
I can no longer part in this war for oppression.
I give my rank to Thomas as he will now lead you.
I bid you farewell, and I'm certain our paths will meet again.

He dropped the pen and walked outside, he was confused but certain he was making the right decision. He was going to head to Megaton to find Lucy West the one person he truely loved. Only Thomas knew of his affection for Lucy, and he was the only person who bring Mark back. But Thomas was really phased with a question. Would he give up his chance of leadership? Or would he sacrifice it to bring back a friend? It would soon be answered.

((Just to let you know I'm not leaving, I'm just spicing things up abit.))

((OOC: Is ringman still in this?))

Mack shrugged, Towns like these could hold a potentially large amount of secrets...

Mark and Ghost retired for the night, Lorna stood watch for God knows what, and Thomas went out hunting for food or for fun. Mack, however, decided to do the best thing he could, and that was to scavenge. He knew to avoid the shack Mark was in, so he moved back to the first place that came to his mind.

His old house.

In the back, there was an old pre-war home. The windows were boards, and the door was nailed shut. Nothing he couldn't handle. He rose his foot, and kicked a hole through the rotting wood of the board. He crawled through the tiny hole, and fell to the ground in an embarrassing manner. Jumping to his feet, he reached around and flicked up the light switch. Almost nothing in the house changed. Mack sighed, I'm not as heartless as people think I am.

The house was only one story - The living room was at the door, the kitchen down the hall, his room to the right, his dad's the next room over. Mack creaked open the door to his room, there was nothing of value. He moved a few feet over to his dad's door, and held his breath. He laughed at what he saw.

It's still here, how is that even possible?

It was an old, broken, rusty, useless .408 Cheyenne Tactical. It was broken, and very un-fixable, but Mack's dad loved it as much as he loved his kids. He took the rifle from it's place in the open cabinet, and walked back outside. Sitting on the ground in front of his house, he spaced out and fiddled with the rifle until the unmistakable stink of cooked meat forced it's way into Mack's nose.

Looking up, Mack thought, Damn, how long was I out?

Mack got to his feet, and made his way to Thomas, eating the Brahmin meat. Smirking, Mack said "Don't be selfish, Mr. Jones!"

Smiling at Mack I took out another skewer and handed it to him, after a few minutes some others came up and grabbed some food. What worried me though was the fact that Mark still hadn't come out to get his food. Shrugging my shoulders I walked over to the house he had been staying in, he wasn't in there. Looking around I found a note on the table, after I read it I blinked a few times and then read it again, I couldn't believe my eyes. Picking up the note I walked outside almost in a monotone.

Mack gave me a questioning look and I just handed him the note, my mind was speeding away at why he would try this. My mind settled on one reason and I stuck with it, looking around I cursed inwardly and sighed. Looking into Mack's eyes I said, "Mack, stay here... Hold your position for three days, if I'm not back, continue with the mission... I'm sorry, I can't let Mark go off by himself." Nodding at him solemnly I turned and ran across the bridge that seperated the town from the Wastes.

Sprinting through the night I headed towards Megaton, Mark wouldn't waste time in getting there slowly if my thougths were correct. Feelings clashed inside me, a mix of wanting to hurt Mark for abandoning the mission. Then there was a part of me that wanted to find him and stay with him, giving up the mission myself. Mark was the only person that I gave two [censored] about out here, and I was almost ready to give up being in the Enclave to stay with him.

"...I'm sorry, I can't let Mark go off by himself." What was he talking about?

Mack stared at Thomas, then glanced down at the note. Looking back up, and opening his mouth, Mack was ready to say something. But their second-in-command was gone. Flipping the paper around, to read the contents, Mack glanced over at Lorna and Ghost. Everyone was confused.

The first sentence of the note caught Mack by surprise. His expression slanted, and he looked over to the others. He slipped the not into the pocket of his parka, and strapped the CheyTac around his chest.

"Mark's gone..." He muttered, "And Thomas is going after him..." Mack shook his head, and got a more stern, loud voice, "Lorna, Ghost? Temporary setback in our plan. You both heard the man! Three days, and we leave! Don't worry, they'll be back."

"What are you talking about Mack, Thomas and Mark are gone? Were the hell did they go!" Ghost asked.

Mark was approaching Megaton from the East. He felt weak and uneasy about heading back there, but he loved Lucy West. He tripped over a rock and fell to the ground, his mind was blank and his thoughts were unclear. He left his brothers down and let them fend for themselves.

"It can't be too late to change things, I have to try." He thought to himself, he heard Thomas's voice from within the distance but he stayed quiet. He was now a pathetic, feeble man who had no purpose. He reached into his pocket and grabbed the bottle of whiskey he gulped it back as he thought it would ease the pain. He wasn't himself, his motives weren't right. He heard Thomas's footsteps as he spotted him. He swiftly grabbed his pistols and walked up behind Thomas.

"I told you stay away, I won't hesitate to kill you." He muttered as he was set to pull the trigger and end his best friends life. There was no logic behind it but he would do it.

As Mark turned the guns on me I just rose my hands a little in an innocent gesture and let them hang limply by my side. Shaking my head lightly I looked into Mark's eyes, sighing I muttered out, "I can't stay away from my best friend out here Mark, I'm sorry. If you were anyone else I wouldn't have hesitated to put three arrows in between your [censored] eyes. But no, since it's you all I can do is stand here uselessly and tell you that if you want to kill me... You may as well do it."

Lifting the left side of my mouth slightly I gave out a small cough, "Before you go ahead and make the choice between pulling those triggers, I have to ask... Lucy loves you right and you love her? Mark, I understand that Lucy's important to you and I'm ready to give up all I have to help you. I will go back to the group and tell them you died if you wish, I will then tell them I'm staying behind to bury and say goodbye to you; also telling them to move on. Or if you wish I can stay with them and lead them.

If being with Lucy is what you want for a happy and normal life Mark, I won't stop you." Looking up at the sky I sighed lightly and quietly said, "At least you have someone whom you can think of at night. I have no such person anymore..." Remembering an old line from a poem I let a small smile creep across my face and looked back at Mark; waiting for his answer.

Mark dropped his guns as he glared at Thomas, Mark was willing to tell Thomas the real reason he left that night.

"I'm going to be honest with you, I didn't leave because of Lucy. Lastnight I recieved information that agency have betrayed me and they want me dead. I couldn't tell you because I thought one of you would kill me, I'm being hunted as we speak, it was a plan from the start Thomas. When the clones were created we were only there for contracts in which we didn't get paid for. Now that we're making a living out of it they don't want us anymore. They want the whole team dead and they're looking for us."

He pondered as he glared at Thomas.

As Mark said what he said I let my eyebrow raise lightly and a scowl wrote itself all over my face. Taking a few breaths I stopped myself from losing my composure right there.

Looking into Mark's eyes I quietly said, "They want the whole team dead? Are you kidding me? [censored]... Okay, maybe instead of running off you should have told us Mark! I want to know if I'm getting hunted down you idiot, what are we going to do then?" scratching my chin I continued, "well this is just [censored] aye? Where can we go that they couldn't find us and kill us then? If you want to go off on yourself because you think it would be more safe, I'll let you do it."

Looking up at the sky again I said, "Maybe you'd be safest in Megaton with Lucy, or maybe that would lead them right to her. Either way, you have to choose something to do Mark."

Mark made his decision.

"I was confused Thomas, I selfishly thought about myself before any of you. We have to stick together, there is a secret culture underground that can help us. They're in the underground of the nearby Broadcast Tower. We must pretend to vanish, and when the time is right return and stop the corruption. Guns and Armor will not help us, a blade that was passed down to my family has slayed the greatest of men. It is where I am going, You use a bow and arrow another concept of past weaponry. I want to learn the cultures of these people, who live as if the nothing has happened. We will write diary's each day reviewing our progress, and we'll rise when the time is right. But there is a hit on us so large it couldn't compensate the money we were being paid for this mission. It's getting late, let's camp in Megaton and I'll inform you more tomorrow."

Mark dropped his guns and his Rifle that was on his back. He wanted to live as an assassin in the old days where blades and swords were used to dismember people. It sounded like a fantasy but it was his only hope. He walked to the gate in Megaton and entered, his face told many stories but mainly one of determination. He was waiting for his best friend to follow, but he also realized there was a chance he wouldn't.

"No, we're going to have to stick together. I know I should've told you and the team, but I was too worried you would betray me. Lets get some rest in Megaton until the morning."

Mark walked up to the gate as he waited for Thomas to follow him.

Following Mark to Megaton I didn't say a word, I was digesting what he'd had to say; and he was partway right. We needed to hide, and that idea may have been the smartest thing I'd heard for a long time.

Watching him as we entered Megaton I quietly said, "I'm going up to Moriarty's for the night, if you need me I'm there... You go see Lucy, or come up to Moriarty's, either way; keep your head down and don't do anything stupid." Nodding at him lightly I walked past him and up to Moriarty's, following the tangled path of metal that would let me make my way to the Saloon.

As I walked into the cramped, dark and stuffy building I nodded at Gob and walked over to him, "How much for a room for the night?" I quietly asked.
He just tapped the bar and said, "100 caps without company, 120 caps with."
I slid 100 caps over the counter and nodded at him, he nudged his head up the stairs and to his left.

Saying a quick thanks I made my way upstaris and into the room that he'd pointed out, closing the door behind me I took my bow off my back and placed it under the bed. After I'd done that I placed my quiver right next to it and placed myself onto the bed. Yawning lightly I let my eyes close and fell into a half-sleep half-awareness.

I don't see how that is relevant.
