They seemed to make the game too much harder which is not want I want. I don't care about "realism" this is a game and I want to have fun, I use to like hard games but not anymore I just want to play and have a good time, getting overly frustrated because I can't survive 10 mins is not my idea of fun. I don't mind some hard areas(I actually like that, Final Fantasy games always had that kind of thing, some optional super hard bosses and dungeons) but not the whole game.
Hey Kefka, I feel like I need to clarify some things about my mod, and my reasons for making it.
The first time I played though the Main Quest, I found FO3 to be way too easy, so I looked for an overhaul that would make the game more challenging. But I could not find what I wanted . . . all the overhauls seemed to focus on making FO3 a better FPS, and I wanted an overhaul that made the game a better RPG. Then I figured out why: I'm a girl gamer . . . I don't play games the way the most guys do . . . and all the overhauls seem to be made by guys. So I decided to fix that . . . by learning how to mod, so that I could fix the game the way that I wanted it to be fixed. My Realism Tweaks is the result.
My mod does make the game much more challenging, but I didn't make it so hard that game play is no longer any fun. Why would I do that? I made this mod for me, and I'm a BIG fan of fun.
What you will find with my mod is that your stats will become VERY important . . . in how your game will actually play out. Plus I balanced things out between the PC and the NPC, which mean that the PC will not be god-like after a few level ups. And you will no longer be able to go from a cap-less Vault escapee to the wealthiest Wastelander after just a few levels. And you will NOT be able to easily take on a whole pack of Raiders at level 2, without hardly getting a scratch. You'll have to actually use some strategy to survive, and you'll have to rely on stealth much more, and you'll have to be smart enough to run away from battles when the odds are against you.
And your really shouldn't judge my mod (or any other mod) by its title. This is from my mod's description:
"Oh, before you get the wrong idea, I need to explain what I mean by "realism." For me, a RPG is more realistic when I can role-play without having to work at it. My Realism Tweaks are my efforts to make FO3 more immersive and more realistic within the context of Fallout's alternate reality (which is a place where radiation causes mutations as often as death, and where crippled limbs can be healed with a stimpack injection). Since FO3 is actually supposed to be a RPG and not a FPS, one of my goals has been to enhance the RPG aspects of the game, where your Skills and Stats are much more important in how your game will play out for you. If you use my Full_Tweaks (which includes my new Skills module), you will discover that your distribution of SPECIAL points is so MUCH more important than it was in the default game. And, when you leave the Vault, you will now find that the Wasteland may actually feel like a harsh wasteland. This mod is deceptively small, so don't be put off by its small size. It actually includes a LOT of code, which changes over 1300 records, and makes some rather dramatic changes to the game.
