Jungle Resources

SI? Shivering Isles?

Yes, not Sports Illustrated. :hehe:
I'm actually looking for a Morrowind resource pack.

I know, which is why I recomended taking a look at them. They're Bethesda's resources, but I think they're what you're looking for... The only Mayan esque Morrowind mod I knew of was the Headdress mod, and that isn't in the spirit of what you're looking for.

If I use SI's resources, I think Bethesda would eat my first born child. They don't like that. <_<

Morroblivion got banned form the forums because of a small Morrowind texture problem, I believe.

Ok, I was messing about with my palm trees, and I think I've got the hang of it. I made myself a pretty nice looking jungle patch.

But I lagged like crazy. It's far too much for any computer to handle in-game. And I didn't even have the detail flora in, it was only trees. And it was only roughly a quarter of a cell.

how can I go about making masses of trees without causing lag like this?

I may actually have the ruins sorted. I just used a simple retexture of vanilla meshes. If I end up not liking it, I'll be sure to bug y'all about it again ;)

He doesn't like the way they look and seems to have no interest in trying to retexture them:

"A lot of what's there are resources that I've already found. I also don't like the n64 look of a lot of the flora there. It's all too bright and colourful. I'm looking for a dark, dense, scary jungle (sorry for my perfectinism)."

OK, yes, first off you can't use Bethesda's resources in games they weren't designed for - sorry. Licensing restrictions and all that.

Secondly, you mentioned download sites being broken? Perhaps some of the mesh resources you were looking for might have been included in my Leyawiin mod?

There's also a modification of one of the jungle plants so it's much lower poly without affecting how it looks, so you can use a whole bunch of them in a cell without slowdown.

Here's a couple of screens:

I think all those meshes were also used in Aldbarrow, which is a smaller download.
