Shroud covered body

Post » Fri Jul 30, 2010 7:12 pm

I need a dead body completely covered by a shroud for my companion burial scripts. My old script just places a gravestone at the place where the companion had fallen, but I've had requests to allow the player to move the body and bury it elsewhere, so I need to make a corpse that can be carried. I thought a body in a shroud would be the most dignified way to present it. I've tried looking in Barabus' Graveyard resource (where I got the gravestones) but the crypt corpses are kind of not what I'm looking for. I need something where the face is covered.

Does anyone know where I could find such a thing?

Then again, if such a thing can't be found, I might just find a way to script a cremation and transport them in an urn. Does anyone know of any urn resources that are better than the stock models? Because that's definitely a viable alternative and might be easier to find. Though the cremation sequence might be a little tricky, and I'd need to find a good fire mesh to place underneath the body. Ether way, if resources are available to do this kind of thing I would love to be pointed in the right direction. :)

Don't know about shrouded corpses, but you could try http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8318 for urns.

I should have thought of that. I have it sitting on my hard-drive right now! :)

I think I might just go with the urn idea, because that could be an item that can be placed anywhere without the need for special scripting, and it wouldn't be as unrealistic to cart around. It's more lore friendly for my two Dunmer companions as well. The scripting for the cremation sequence will take some work, and I still need a good fire.

Does anyone know if there's a mesh somewhere for a proper funeral pyre or something close enough? Or just a good burning effect. I might just go with a burning effect. Not sure yet...

I've always liked the burning effect used in Bloodmoon, when the fire is over the lake. Maybe you could use a scaled version of that? Note sure what NIF that is offhand...
