Ok, so it's been many, many years since I last played Morrowind, but I'm finally getting back into it. One thing I didn't remember, is how easy it is to die in this game, at least early on. Another old game I've recently begun playing again, is Star Wars Galaxies. Why bring that up? One feature in SWG (at least for lower-level characters, not sure about high-level), is that when you run out of HP, you are simply knocked unconscious instead of dying. You lay on the ground - unable to move - for 10 seconds, while the enemy mobs lose interest in you. After "waking up", you have an effect placed on you for 45-50 seconds, and if you die again within that time frame, then it's a final "death" (obviously not completely final in SWG, given that it's an MMO).
I'm curious if something like that is even possible for Morrowind. I imagine it should be, but I'm not a modder, so I couldn't say for certain. I think - at least for starting characters - something like this would be extremely useful. I can't remember the number of times I've had to keep reloading on my starting character. While I suppose some might classify this as a cheat, I think it would simply enhance the game. That's just my opinion, however.
If something like this has already been done, I do apologize. I've been digging through TESNexus and PlanetElderScrolls, but there are a lot of mods to go through, and I obviously haven't looked at them all. If that is the case, however, I would appreciate just a simple link to that mod. Thank you.
