Low fps on phenom x3 8650

Post » Sat Jul 31, 2010 1:50 pm

Hi! I'm new here at TES: Oblivion, and I kind a have a problem about the game. I have a phenom x3 8650 2.31 ghz, a nvidia 9500 gt 1 gb, a 2gb ddr2 ram and win xp sp3. My Problem is my pc running it at 10 fps to 15 fps, I know its not high end but I play new/current games at high settings and up to 60 fps, I could not believe my rig is a slouch for this game. I have everything in default setting in 480 by 640 screen at 10 to 15 fps. I saw a fix for this, but it was kind of long and I have to download a lot of stuff and do a lot of tweaks here and there, I was kind of hoping for just as patch to fix it. Can anyone please point me at a post or guide, thanks in advance!

Are you running any mods? That video card should handle the game fine atleast at medium settings.

Sorry for the late reply, I only rent to get internet access, no mods running here, its a clean install. I tried the patches at the official site, but it did not patch, said something about not finding old files and seeing something with same name, that's all. I tried manually lowering everything but it made me puke, cause all I see is crap on the monitor. I think they kind of made this game to good, I think I'm above on the recommended requirements, still can not run it properly. I also read in the other forums here that you need something like corei7, nvidia gtx 285 and 4gb of ram to tun this great, again with the system requirements mix-up. I find this really hard to accept, even so goty awards, there was no way anybody could have run this admirably well when it was released. Well maybe I'm wrong but maybe the recommended requirements was not running it good on the time of first release. Sorry for the sourpvssying, I heard it was good when I was playing and having a good time with fallout 3, which I run at high settings. Same game made by the same company, oblivion came out first right, fallout 3 came later, run fallout3 great, run oblivion really lame, I'm really stupified here, really. I deeply apologize for all the stupid and dumb stuff and things I post, it's just that, that, that,,,,,,,,,

Hi again, first of all, I would like to apologize for the stupid and damn things I said about The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. And the second thing, I thank God for setting me on the right path to Oblivion. Lastly, but not by any means less, I would like to thank someone who mentioned that a vanilla install of win xp would fix your problem with Oblvion. Lo and behold, I'm running the game now at ultra high setting with no Anti-Aliasing. Thank God for those people who help in the forums, I'm one greatfull Imperialin the game of Oblivion.

Thanks to all the people in here, I'm going to be busy for quite a while I think.

God Bless You All.
