I Quit. Someone Stole my Newest Multiplayer files

Post » Sun Aug 01, 2010 7:44 pm

Someone named Aaron that I thought was going to be a legitimate tester took my files and left. He even was a jerk about it and told me exactly that he was a fraud.
I have no idea what his intentions are. He might go brag to his friends about what he did or worse claim he made a workable multiplayer before anyone else.

His msn is

This is too much competition. I just spent all day upgrading the source code and fixing my hosting so i could do a test. And now it is all annulled.

The best thing I can do now is give you all the client files too. http://www.sendspace.com/file/z67rvm

I am sorry guys, I should of been careful but I never thought people would be so greedy to want to trick me into giving them the files and despite me having agreed to make this open source and giving out the source code.

I am turning my firewall on now. If you want the source, just wait for that jerk to hand it over to a reverse engineer and let them try to figure it out.

Moderator: I'm sorry that you have to deal with this situation, but putting someone's email address, or linking to someone's profile info on another forum is not something we will allow.

Don't let that person win! We all know the amount of work that you put into it, we all know it is yours. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't know this person, so if you both released a multi-player type thing, I would pick yours since I am familiar with your work. I am sure most other people would do the same. If anything, keep plugging away at what you already love doing. I am sure you know way more than they do, so yours would be way better anyways.

Those are good points . But who can I really trust anymore? He could be trying all kinds of terrible things atm . I really really need a super-trustworthy group who can follow directions so i can get this testing done. I atleast want to know how well it was going to work.

Edit: He is claiming now that it was a misunderstanding. I am going to talk with him as he wants, so wait till thats done.

You've got us. Well, trust-able people here. Shouldn't be that hard to find somebody. This forum has a large group of nice folks. Try TESA even.

This is the internet. To think everyone is trust worthy is foolish.

I would ask a moderator to lock this thread then if I were you - and start one with a more positive tag-line and opening :)

Glad it worked out.
