Fallout novel

Post » Mon Aug 02, 2010 10:28 pm

I've been working on my fanfic, "Fallout: The Capital Wasteland" for sometime and I usually send ideas of my fic penpal in jolly good England who is a novelist. He likes the story a lot and thinks it has potential as a novel, he should know. He IS a novelist after all. I've been thinking about and who knows, if I have the rights from the guys from Bethesda themselves I would and will publish it.

What do you think?

I doubt that Bethesda would give rights to it. But nothing prevents you from publishing it in internet - just that you don't get $ for it.

If you are an unpublished author than I think it is unlikely. Perhaps you can remove the Fallout elements from the story and replace them with your own post-apocalyptic setting and then see if you can get it published? I'm sure having a friend in the industry will make it much easier to get in touch with an agent or publisher.

If he IS a novelist, he should also know that using copyrighted material is hardly worth it. Especially when its owned by someone else.

However, if U are serious about it, work out the details with Bethesda before putting more effort into it.

But hey, U could always use your ideas in collaboration with some top modders and get much more recognition than for just another Fallout based story.
