Mouse is jerky

Post » Tue Aug 03, 2010 11:42 am

Hello,

My mouse is very jerky, its not smooth at all. I have tried all the settings, putting the sensitivity all the way up, but still does it, only a bit faster but still does it. Sometimes to the point where you just can't play, I have to use VATS otherwise I cannot target and even in VATS it can take awhile to mouse over the correct spot. This happened in Oblivion also, one of the reasons I never finished that game.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

I'm experiencing an issue with mouse acceleration.
Try the following:

Step 1: Open the Fallout.ini in the My Games/Fallout 3 folder
Step 2: Add the following line to the [Controls] section:

fForegroundMouseMult=4.0

Step 3: Change '4.0' to adjust the mouse acceleration to the desired speed.

Lowering the value will decrease the cursor acceleration in menus.
Raising the value will increase the cursor acceleration in menus.

Additionally community members have found adding these four lines have helped:

fForegroundMouseAccelBase=0
fForegroundMouseAccelTop=0
fForegroundMouseBase=1.2
fForegroundMouseMult=0
