I don't know if you can use a ps3 controller on your pc. But I do know that you can use your Xbox360 controller and Microsoft supports the use for it

It is possible with a few hacks. Google "ps3 controller on PC" or something of the like and you will find it. Previous poster's advice of using a 360 controller might be better since it is plug and play.
