More weapons and armor sets please!

Post » Thu Aug 05, 2010 7:42 pm

Hopefully we'll have at least the same amount of different weapons and armor as Oblivion did, or even more!

And I really want some more unique armor sets and weapons.

Unless by more, they have more armor but as single piece chestlegarmsbootsallinonespecialsuitoffur!

I'd rather have less if it meant keeping the pieces split up, back to morrowind style.

Pete Hines confirmed that there will be multiple armor pieces.

look on page 51 there are 2 different people wearing the same cuirass, but one person has 2 pauldrens while the other only has 1
also the person that has 1 on the left side is clearly metal while the other one is leather

Yeah I'm hoping there's more than 6 sets of unique armor this time around. That got kind of old in Oblivion. More weapons is always nice too.

Source please? This would take some worry off my shoulders, cause then I would just worry about how much customization. It could be a set of 3 to be multiple and that would not make me feel better :(

They could easily make armor that isnt symmetric in itself, though you have a good chance of being right on this one.

oblivion had less than morrowind.. so i dont think anything is given at this point.
personally i felt there was all to few armor sets and weapons in oblivion. it contributed to the feeling that after a while, id been everywhere, done everything, seen everything.

i do hope the developers have thought about that :flamed:

From the screenshots we know that:
- Elven armor and weapons exist
- Nordic helm and I guess Nordic Iron cuirass are in (all Nordic armors from Morrowind should probably be back, re-designed though).
- I think we can see a "Newtscale" as well, doesn't look like Nordic ringmail to me (Spider screenshot).
- The guard seems to be wearing a silver or steel.

Also there seems to be clothing overlay here, because the PC fighting the spider is wearing the same leather straps then "Conan" is, but with a cuirass and both pauldrons.

Dragonbone or something like it must be in there somewhere. Perhaps as some epic armour you craft using bones from the dragons you've slain.
I think they need more low-medium level armour apart from the basic leather and iron. MW had chitin, netch leather, nordic fur, newtscale, dreugh, bonemold etc etc. Some armour even had different types and styles
shields also had regular and tower varieties.

I was also disappointed with how many of the armour sets in oblivion looked. MW daedric armour looked so much better, as did glass and ebony. In fact I dont think I liked any of the high level armour sets available.

so I hope for lots more in Skyrim! not just leather, fur, iron and steel!

Unfortunately that's true.

I hope there'll be more, I especially want spears back.

hopefully there is many varying sets and pieces that we can mix and match, also i've been wondering how much customization we will be able to do with smithing/whatnot what would be cool if there were 3 or 4 different ways that each type of armor could look depending on what materials we used to edit them or something along those lines,

Well, sets like iron/steel/dwarven/elven are sure to return (and hopefully also daedric), but I'm hoping we'll get some new sets as well.

And some more unique sets like the Cruisader's armor.

resurfacing legendary items like the Lord's Mail and Cuirass of Saviour's Hide would be great too.

Yeah I totally agree - I didn't really like many of the armours in Oblivion the Dark Brotherhood was cool and so was the Elven but apart from that they were quite disappointing. If the Elven armour you see in the game informer images is anything to go by I would say that there has been a massive improvement - it looks incredible!!!

Yes, variety of armor especially is one of the things Oblivion lacked a lot.

I also hope they add more armor slots this time, because it gives more variety and opens for more creativity and customization.

I will be VERY dissapointed if they dumb down the armor slots even more.
