proximity Script

Post » Fri Aug 06, 2010 2:22 pm

I'm looking for a script to make it so that a custom frag granade is thrown normally, but it doen't explode upon landing until something moves within a certain radius of it. Can someone help me with this?

Maybe like a mine? Just look at the properties of a mine, and a grenade and make some kind of hybrid out of the two, so its 'thrown' but sit there until someone comes near it. I think you could do it.

Well, maybe. I will try to do as you suggested, but the fact is the fallout 3 scripting language is still pretty much a mystery for me - if i known where to find a guide i think it would help. Anyway, until i know more about how to use it, i'd rather ask for help from people who know more then me about it.

find a post where Cipscis says something, and look at his signature. He has some very good scripting tutorials on his website. Also, theres no scripting involved I dont think. Just look for the object of a fraggrenade in the geck, and look at the object for say, a frag mine and look at the settings and try to make something of it.

You don't need scripting. You need a new projectile that has the properties of a mine. Take a look at the frag mine projectile and at the grenade projectile.

so, make a new proectile, based upon frag grenades, but with the properties of a mine... well that sounds easy enough. i a few days, hopefully i'll be able to use my own system again, and i'll have a go. thanks!
