Can That Gun be modded?

Mods are specific to weapon type, being that That Gun is so unique there aren't even regular variants, I'd be surprised. I know I haven't seen any and I always look.

Varmint rifle is a .22, whereas That Gun is a 5.56. Are you confirming that guns can chamber multiple calibers?

Well, my Varmint Rifle uses 5.56 ammo as well. Not justifying the ability to mod weapons based on ammo types, just saying they use the same munitions.

Interesting, I'll have to do some testing after work. I recall hearing that since .22 and 5.56 were close, some guns could chamber both in the real world. And I almost swear seeing a post from Josh indicating the same would be true in this game. But never tried.

It's also possible I'm imagining all of that.

I see where you are having the mix up. .223/5.56 are practically interchangeable. .22 rounds, however, are much different than the larger, military grade .223/5.56 rounds.

I don't know about all that. All I was talking about is that in my game That Gun and my Varment Rifle both list 5.56 ammo as what they use.

It's more likely my mix up is from me having a crap memory. I swore it used the .22LR rounds but see no support for that.

I guess what I need now is a mod to allow a silencer for That Gun.

Do mods turn of the ability to get steam achievements in NV? They did in Civ5.

Is there another gun that can repair That Gun? For instance in Fallout 3 Lincoln's Repeater (possibly the best weapon in the game BTW) can be repaired w/ a hunting rifle.

Not that I've seen. It only seems it can be repaired by:
1) Weapon Repair Kits
2) Repair NPCs
3) Jury Rigging

Wonder why it's called "That Gun?" I don't even remember where I got it now. I managed to get it and a unique...rocket launcher, I think...the second at Black Mountain.

It's called That Gun because it's recognizable. It was the favorite weapon for many Fallout 1 & 2 players in those games due to it's massive damage. They scaled it down a bit, but it still rocks. Also, it's the gun from Blade Runner.
