Yeah, I'm certain they're going to describe some sort of build-up and increasing tensions in the opening sequence or something. People don't just wake up one day and decide to start a war without any preparation beforehand. Which is why it also makes perfect sense that the Security would be trying to attract new recruits as the months went on.

I'd expect some light machine guns and grenades (smoke, flashbang, tear gas...) to deter pirates and control riots. There isn't anything much bigger than an M60, is there?

I'm sure that by bigger you mean larger and still man portable right? 'Cause if you just mean bigger then :facepalm:

Just a pointer the M60 isn't an LMG it's a Medium Machine Gun. Same as the M240 that has largely replaced it.

But this is close to a "realism" question (not above the OP) don't worry where they came from just grab that mini-gun and turn some people into mist.
