Problems with sneaking outside.

When it comes to infiltrating a building or cave I have no problem, it is close range and there are objects to take cover in. When I am traveling the wasteland I have trouble being stealthy. Any suggestions on the dangers outside in the wasteland?

I think a lot of it comes down too light level, in caves and metro tunnels its usually always dark, maybe try travelling at night? Or moving slower.

Avoid line-of-sight. Sneaking works better at night, until your sneak gets higher.

chinise stealth armour, silenced 10mm pistol shady hat, and silent runnning perk works always for me, i'm pretty much undeteteble, always, unless i use a loud weapon

Go slow, if you're trying to remain undetected by an enemy, stay behind them and creep from behind a rock to behind a tree to behind a car to behind a pile of rubble. Once you get your sneak to 100 and have the Silent Running perk, you shouldn't have any more troubles sneaking around.

Also never hurts to keep one or two stealth boys in your inventory should you need to go invisible :fallout:

Go slow, and limit your stalking to nighttime. In daylight, you're visible. Also, if you're pickpocketing, do it from behind or on sleeping targets.

Also before you get the silent runner perk the weight of your armor will factor into your ability to remain hidden, basiclly heavy armor = easier to spot while light or no armor = harder to spot.

Use terrain to your advantage. Exploit any cover like rock piles, and if possible creep around small hills or slopes that block line of sight.

As a general rule, to avoid combat, keep your distance.

If you are going for the sneak attacks, stealth boys are your best bet. People just turn and patrol too much out in the open.
