What will be your first class?

Post » Fri Aug 13, 2010 10:13 pm

I love that there are no classes. The custom class name field wasn't always long enough for some of my ideas.

I favour versatile spellsword types (so restoration, destruction, melee and ranged weapon skills), but for a first playthrough I'll probably do a stereotypical barbarian hero guy - so leveling melee, a little armour, traveling and crafting-related skills, maybe with a bit of healing magic thrown in to keep him alive.

Eh, not sure.

I normally play some sort of stealth character thief/asassing thing. Bow and short blade.

But

This new two-handed attacking might actually make me want to change and use some magic. But I've always hated the whole making spells thing

And

I'm really intrigued as to those "survival" skills that might floating around out there...

I'm really interested in this idea and it honestly seems like the only logical conclusion to the "do whatever you want" Elder Scrolls mentality. It felt like the past games were going for this kind of system so I'm all for it.

Edit* I forgot to say what my "class" will be. Same as usual, Assassin/Mage type character.

My first playthrough is always a pure thief character. I hope the stealth system has been improved with noise reacting npcs and escaping guards already chasing you by hiding in shadows. And I also hope for unique handplaced loot that really reward you according to the difficulty to sneak to a chest.

Sage- Nord, pure Mage, doesn't wear armor or use weapons. Doesn't settle down, collect riches, join factions. Just wanders, meets new people and helps when needed.

I will problably play as a human, warrior/hunter type of character, kind of a survivor, which then gets involved in the storyline. Not sure which race though, but that's another story :D

Although if magic is revamped and more fun, I might just start as a mage... unleashing doom from both my hands sounds pretty badass!

A stealth based soldier, like Rambo or Riddike.

I'm making a stealthy back-stabbing assassin type... I always do that! ;D

Really hope stealth gameplay has been improved (smarter enemies and actual backstabs).

I'll make my character resemble some kind of walking heavy artillery... with a big focus on crafting skills.

Marksman : hopefully they add one handed crossbows. (dual wield ftw!)
Enchant : to make my ranged attacks really powerful and boost my defense, too.
Heavy Armor : so that I can take a lot damage
Conjuration : summon help (two dremoras at one time xP) or distraction... perhaps soultrap or dominate the minds of others, too
Alchemy : I'll have a poison / potion for every situation ...
Swords : A bit for meleeing...

I'll be a walking heavy metal tower of mass destruction. XD

I always go with the easiest type of character first. Mostly combat with speech. Though I will most likely be a stealthy character with bows and arrows my second playthrough and a mage for my third playthrough.

Imperial Ranger/Woodsman, with a bow, and two swords, some stealth, alchemical, whatever detect life is now in, and restoration skill as well. I've done mages, warriors, and thieves but never a bow based character, and i just love ranger characters.

At the moment I'm kind of skeptical about the game. I will go through the game simply the first time, just to see if I am impressed despite my boring play style.

Skill:
Armor (heavy if it exists)
Blunt weapons

I will just hit things with my weapons. Depending on the strength of the guards, I might smash them too. If I start to see that the game is actually deep and TESish, I'll branch out into a less ridiculous set of skills. Otherwise, smash, smash, smash.

As always Breton Mage
I always liked playing as a human (call me boring but I find them more relatable :P) And I just always like being a mage on account that if it were not for balancing they would mop the floor with any other class, and even with balancing they still do.

My character's first class might be ABCs for Barbarians... Seriously though I don't know how Skyrim's character system is going to work, but I imagine I'll go with a stealthy archer type as well to start.

My first game will likely be a bit slower and exploratory. I can almost guarantee that I will be some kind of med-armour wearing skirmisher with some magic. A mix and then, probably specialize more in subsequent play throughs.

Khajit Night-Blade.

and yes, there are still classes in a personal sense. It's like TES1-4 where you choose your class depending on what skills you use.
