New Vegas is great, but sometimes i think, they have made this game a little to challenging for new players, i always do a new run through on very easy for a review, and i still at the part where u have to beat BoS base, and its pretty challenging with not so many great weapons for the fact that they are so pricey( ill get back to that later) also im siding with HOUSE so its like, and im like HATED by the legion and im not on good terms with the NCR and ive encountered legion assassins, and when i mean they put up a fight i used 15 stimpaks on 6 of them...

Ok, so now that we've gotton past that part, lets talk armor and prices of things, the armor svcks on this game, i have some special combat armor that offers 16 DR, compared to fallouts 3 combat armour that was 32 THATS RIDICULOUS! power armour only offers like 30... which is like, i dont even know... so its like im sure they changed the rates, but it sure it doesnt feel like it...

also theres something EXTREMELY wrong with the economy... 5000 CAPS FOR A SNIPER RIFLE! thats just ridiculous i dont even have that much, and as fast as armour breaks it cost a whole lot to repair, i mean how are you supose to get any wheres when it cost u 5000 caps for a sniper rifle, i dont even have that much...

i dont know about u guys but dont u think they should have worked these things out? did they not notice this? is this game to hard for new comers, cus from what im hearing from some of my first time fallout friends they are having trouble getting to New Vegas...

oh yeah one last thing! WHY DID THEY NOT FIX THE PORTS FOR THE PS3? i freeze at least 4 times a day... kinda aggravating, and if im not freezing im getting frequent lag...

come on obsidian, learn from Bethesda's mistakes
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

all those thoughts aside, i love the game... cant stop playing it, kinda.... just wish they would fix the difficulty, like uhg... one of the first creatures i find is a deathclaw who eats me....

Hmmm, odd... I respectfully dissagree. I am playing on Very Hard, and hardcoe mode. I am currently level 14, I have sided with house as well, NCR and Legion dispise me. I am rolling around in about 20k caps, I have more ammo, chems, guns, armors, stimpaks, drinks, foods, and plants than I know what to do with... I find the game incredibly easy. D: I did play Fo3, but I don't believe its a hard game to pick up at all, and I never considered myself too good at it.

Oh and I have it on PC, and it freezes every 30-60 minutes for me. I think they have alot of issues, but they patch it once a day so I'll give them a month or two to fix everything up.

I don't get it? What's wrong with any of this? Why wouldn't a SNIPER rifle cost a small fortune? (Why wouldn't the bullets cost an arm & a leg too?)

*** I'm going to guess that with access to casino tables and quick influx of funds, the prices are set high to offset this; but I see nothing wrong with them as they are (granted though, its over twice what it cost in Fallout 1).

[censored] happens. It's a post apocalyptic game, if it was this easy playing it would be boring.

I have to disagree with you I find it hard and I played FO3 and the Add-Ons on hard. Caps I am still very low on and have no descent weapon. (Although I am only at level 4 or 5. :banghead: )

The economy is messed up due to the incredible ease with which you can get cash from Casinos. (The whole theme of the game is the Casinos, so of course things are going to kinda' be working around them... Getting $800k+ before I get kicked from a place (Using a mod), I really would love to get rid of my Caps) Vanilla or otherwise, the Casinos pretty much hand you money if you have a decent Luck. If not, then there's always quests and such.

If you're playing on PC, I would recommend downloading mods for your game if you find them too easy.. I just find it immersion-breaking that I get booted after winning $20k.

Ok folks, I've deleted flames, flamebait and response to both. Flaming flamers and all that stuff. If you don't have anything civil to add, don't post and if someone posts flames don't quote them and flame the flamer or all of you get warnings and the thread gets locked. Don't try my patience, and I will be back to check.

Is your Luck above 5 and do you understand BlackJack?? Head to The Tops and watch the caps roll in. I have 15,000 in caps as we speak and I've only been playing this game since it came out.

The problem is that you are assuming that everything works the same way as in Fallout 3. It' doesn't. Damage works very differently and therefore the armor numbers are not equivalent. Also, prices are just higher in New Vegas. It is not that hard to get tens of thousands of caps. I swiped one suit of combat armor from the NCR and it sold for 2500 caps.

If you want a sniper rifle so bad get a silencer for a weapon and go to hoover dam. Inside you can hide and kill NCR free of charge with a good silencer and a little luck, plus i found two with a sniper rifle on them.

As for armor find a fraction you don't like and go crazy on them and steal whatever you want.

As for repairing I had one lady tell me she wanted about 3k caps to repair one weapon. ouch.

My luck is low in game and I've not won anything from the casinos. I have 12k caps though.

Just repair your own items. Sell all your junk and ammo you don't use. And find those snow globes, one is even in the Lucky 38's cocktail lounge.

The only thing they are good for is selling to Mr. House at 2k a piece.
