The Reclaim For Canterbury

Post » Sat Aug 21, 2010 9:49 pm

Prologue

It had to happen sometime or another. With all those investments in the shops, Canterbury Commons had grown out as one of the main trading places for the entire Capital Wasteland.
It attracted dozens of merchants to settle or trade with Lucky Harrit, Crow, Doc Hoff and Crazy Wolfgang who had opened their own shops and retired from the Caravans.

Business went well. Something of an economic system started to evolve with Uncle Roe as the owner and investor.
But it wasn't only honest traders that came to do business. Small unorganized attacks were spawn upon Canterbury.
The security could hold them off, but soon the attacks grew larger, more frequent and more organized.

Now the Entire Canterbury Commons is overrun. With Harrit, Crow, Hoff and Wolfgang held hostage, the criminals who call themselves 'The Black Hand' are after Uncle Roe's fortune.
But Roe won't give up without a fight. He has money and with money you have power.
So he hired a group of specialists to fight off the Black Hand, offering them a very handsome amount of caps for it.

"Get in there, find out who's organizing this, take them out and save the traders!"
The message was clear and simple, but would the Specialists remain true to Roe?

We're about to find out.

Introduction

The entrance hall of the Robot repair center hadn't been this full in more than 200 years. Protectrons standing in an everlasting pose looked over the group of specialists gathered by Uncle Roe himself, one of the wealthiest men of the capital wasteland.
The men sat down on the old metal chairs, already absorbing their environment as true professionals.

Uncle Roe walked around the hired specialists, explaining the plan he had come up with.
"Now you all know why you're here: Getting rid of the Black Hand.
When I say getting rid of the Black Hand, I mean extermination, elimination, ANNIHILATION!
I want them wiped off the face of the earth, with no exceptions whatsoever!"

As he had calmed down a bit, he laid down a map of the Canterbury commons, the specialists gathering around to get a good look.
"http://lh3.ggpht.com/_pcGT6MFcCus/S0iDDFVeOlI/AAAAAAAAABk/tdY2cqkJNM4/s640/CC-map.jpg," Roe continued. "I've set up two teams. Team red consists of Goliath and Michael, while team blue consists of John Wang, James and Ted.
We are here; at building four: the Robot Repair center.
So, while Goliath and Michael go in on the front, John Wang, James and Ted sneak around the back and set up a stealth attack."

"Goliath and Michael will distract the Black Hand by taking as much of them out without putting themselves in too much harm. Your objectives will be distraction, but if you see a chance, try and advance towards Building three, where I have found out that the hostages are held there. Watch out though, because there will be a lot of guards, there in building one."
Goliath and Michael nodded as Uncle Roe pointed out the places on the map.

"Now I want Ted heading to the main base of the Black Hand as soon as you've found out where it is. I trust that you'll find a way to get the information you will need."
Roe said as he walked up to Ted with the utmost of seriousness on his face.
"Ted, I want you to infiltrate it and become our eyes on the inside.
You can find gear and weapons here, in building two.
Watch out, because they have customized weapons, clothing and armor marked with a Black Hand.
Do not leave the main base place before you know where the leader is, and what he exactly wants.
As soon as you have the information you need, return to me with the others and we'll plan the main assault on their base.
Try to find any weakness in their base so it'll make things easier."

Roe walked before the men, raising his voice as he balled his fists.
"This assignment is NOT without danger; I presume you all know of this, that's why you get paid this handsomely." The men looked around them, trying to spot any weakness of their fellow team members, but there were none to be found.
As everyone geared up for the task that lied before them, Roe handed over a small device to John Wang.
"If you're in a tight spot, press this button, and I'll have sent a group of ten Protectrons to your location."

The specialists stepped out the front door of the Robot Repair center, receiving one last advice before they stepped into the war zone to come.
"Work as a team, exploit each other's abilities and bring me back some Black Hands. Oh, and one more thing: There are a few more specialists that might be sent after you, as some of the men I hired have not shown up yet."

This is the plan in short:

Team 1: Goliath, Michael Reed (Frontal Assault)

Team 2: John W., James D., Ted (Rear stealth Assault)

Infiltrator: Ted (After finding out main base location)

Hostage: Deven (Will try to escape and join the teams, or will be rescued by either team?)

After the reclaim of Canterbury, you will return to Uncle Roe and prepare for the Assault on the Black Hand.

You can still sign up, if you want. PM me and I'll see if you can be one of the few specialists that haven't shown up yet.

Good luck ;)

Ted had been reading the faces of every person in the room. The ones who hadn't spoken yet were harder to pin to any mannerisms yet. Uncle Roe on the other hand had been pretty easy to figure out. It was hard to be a self-made man, especially in the Capital Wasteland. Everything he has now was influenced by him, whether he hired someone to get it done or he'd done it himself. And now these men were coming in to threaten his business. He wasn't about to let them storm in and take that all away from him. However, there was also the pang of fear for the people still there. He actually cared for the people of his town. And he had came up with a detailed plan to take it back.

Ted stood from the metal chair, strectching his neck. He turned to the men who would be with him on the infiltration team. One seemed untested, and the other seemed the opposite. Ted also noticed the familiar twitch of a junkie in the older man's face. He didn't want to have that guy have much responsibility. Ted wasn't about to be the first guy to say anything, so he headed for the door to try and get a look at the town. A map was one thing, but when he could actually see what the map represented, it made it easier to have a good idea of the area.

John Wang stood up and reached down beneath the table. He then pulled out a large suitcase with the initials CW written on the front. He then looked at Roe and began to speak, "Roe if you don't mind I would like to propose something for the team." John flipped open the Suitcase to reveal 4 seperate communicators, all of which looked as fancy and shiny as if they had been kept in prime condition from before the war.

"Just a little present from the Common Wealth.", John said with a smile.

James leaned agaisnt the wall and listened to Roe's speech. He drifted in and out of listening, thinking about all the caps he would be paid for the job. All the caps he would be paid if he was succesful and survived. I know I'll survive, but these guys, who knows? Probably be better for me if not everyone of them survived... more caps for me. James smiled.

"So, while Goliath and Michael go in on the front, John Wang, James and Ted sneak around the back and set up a stealth attack." Roe told the Specialists. Sneak attack? That's not very descriptive. I'll just wing it I guess.

James thought about the Black Hand, and how their objectives in the end were the same. Caps.

When Roe was finished James checked the sharpness of his knives, then put them back. He looked around at the rest of the Specialists to follow their lead.

"Where are the other mercs?!", screamed a raider before hitting Deven across the safe with the butt of his gun. "Come on talk you [censored] zombie!"

"I'm not a ghoul asswipe! And I'm not a merc! I mean if I was, why would I walk to your front door!", screamed Deven.

"We know they're sending mercs after us! Thats how we got this sack of crap!, the raider said as he pointed to the corpse in the back. It was a Talon Mercenary who had been tortured to death.

"What makes you think I'm a merc in the first place! Have you ever seen a merc like me! I got out of the Pitt last month! I dont need this!

Crow and Crazy Wolfgang were sitting in the room next to Deven, locked up with only a schoolbench and a shopping cart to accompany them. You could hear the back of a gun hitting someone's face, the jawbone giving out a crack.
Every now and then, a Black Hand soldier came up throwing something that looked like meat and radiated water towards them. Only to slam the door shut before the food even hit the ground, making sure that it was locked tight once more.

After a few days figuring out who was also captured, it seemed that Doc and Harit were beeing held upstairs in one of the bedrooms. They heard other voices, but none of those seemed familiar, except Dominic's.

There were two guards at the door day and night, backed up by two more patroling the halls, making sure no one got in or out.
Crow and Wolfgang were trying to get up with a plan to escape for days. But so far, the security was too tight to try anything.
Dominic D'Ellsadro almost succeeded to escape, but they caught him at the last moment... and killed him without any mercy.

If even he couldn't escape, how would Crow and Wolfgang? They've never been a merc like Dominic, just simple traders who had the fortune hitting it big in one of the wealthiest merchant regions in the wasteland.

OOC: Seeing as know one wants to accept my gifts im going to go ahead and move on.

John Wang stuck his hand inside his pocket and withdrew a cigarrette. And as he began to light it he thought about his loyal men who were all safely tucked away in paradise falls. It had taken him forever to find a place to keep them nice and safe while they all set up shop here in the D.C. wasteland. They had already been thrown out of Megaton by some wanna be cowboy calling himself Lucas Simms. What a joke he thought to himself. Later on when they found pardise falls some [censored] who sat on his ass all day and guarded the front entrance actually thought that he alone could bargin some caps out of the Glowing Dragon. Sadly they weren't in the mood and were tired of traveling this desolate and empty wasteland, so immediatley afterwards John ordered all his men to blow the guys brains out. While the man was laying completey headless on ground with blood spewing from his neck, John and all his men raided and stormed the entire slave camp. Killing almost every slaver in sight and even taking the Big Cheese in charge hostage. The man in charge (who suppousley went by the name Eulogy) was immediatley subdued by John's men and then was fitted into a slave collar for the pure purpose of irony. Oh how priceless the expression on his face was to see him go from the slaver to the enslaved.
