Man, people are really stupid

Post » Sat Aug 21, 2010 8:20 pm

So i just got this StumbleUpon thing and well, I stumbled onto http://static.texastribune.org/media/images/humansanddinos_tr2_png_800x1000_q100.png.
Wow, seriously? Is this fake, have people just been watching too much Flintstones? If theres scientific proof that we evolved from apes, how could you say "Nuh uh, we just appeared one days and started riding dinos." This made me laugh when I saw this. like Einstein always said, "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."
These charts'n'stuff always make me lol. if you find another thing like this I want to see it.

I would need to know when, where and how many people participated in the census to be appropriately flabbergasted.

Well, and no offense meant towards any Texans 'round here, but the source IS from Texas. :hehe:

Anyways I have a feeling this topic might be skirting close to religious topics, what with the mention of evolution and all.

Edit: Also, unless I'm misremembering, Darwin himself did not even believe that humans evolved from apes, only that humans and apes shared a common ancestor.

Hey, no Texas bashing or discussion of the evolution theory. I should by rights to close this but I am short of warnings this week so I will wait for someone to step out of line. ;)

People were probably not serious when answering the question.

Humans developed from dinosaurs. Pretty obvious.

Tail bone? It's no coincidence that Velociraptors also had tails.

I wish dinos and humans co-existed. Then we'd get cool stuff, http://history.icanhascheezburger.com/2010/09/21/funny-pictures-history-dino-history/.

Haha, sorry dude, no offense of course :) I'll go drink my tea and eat crumpets and scones :) Even?

On topic:

If this really was answered sensibly, then hey...who are we to question? Those people were asked for their opinion, and they gave it...good for them for having the courage to admit they're stupid!

And humans have been born with tails. Google it.

Though they think it's a defect when you have spina bifida even though it doesn't really look like a tail.

You can find polls and surveys from at least the last decade showing pretty much the same thing.

It is of course religiously based, mostly protestant and fundamentalist denominations of Christianty, we all know this. I don't however have any desire to debate the ins and outs of Creationism vs Evolution, even at the best of times that argument inevitably degenerates into the worst, ugliest retardation-fest on the Interwebz on both sides.

I do think saying it's 'stupidity' is unnecessarily insulting and harsh though. Whether and when you emphasize faith or rationality is highly subjective and often arbitrary.
