Final String of Hope

NOTE: After the epic fail that is the alien of 101, i will not give up quickly. This, however, will just skip to the point of an energy weapon specialist from vault 101. BUT, it will still have depth. A little more than the original.

Ugh, the wasteland. nothing but pure, unadvlterated violence, death and radiation. AKA my new home. I had abandoned my name, to search for the father that gave that name. And a new life will await outside. This is me, the lone wanderer, and looks like the wasteland needs a new hero to look up to. I just hope i can get this right for once. My life is a rotting hellhole already

LONE WANDERER DIARY LOG #1

Ah, well, time for this boat to ride. I REALLY come to hate this wasteland as it is. Everything's irradiated. Each puddle is full of muck. And every creature that attacks me is butt-ugly. And this is only my first day. I bet a deathclaw will appear much more common to my eye. At least if i can survive the 5 mole rats that came charging at me. Like i said, butt-ugly. But for some reason, i actually had enough guts this time to kill at least 4 of them with a pistol Amata gave me. And then the bigger one was the only one left. Before it charged to put me to my final slumber, lasers out of nowhere began to kill that butt face in less than 5 seconds. I had got a note in Jonas' Corpse stating dad went to a town (which i cannot believe still exists in places like this) called Megaton. And to my pleasure, it was right in front of me. Well one thing good happened to me for once in my life.

--------------------------------------------
Well, first things first, look for clues. Before i began, i was greeted by a Lucas Simms. He is a nice guy. His main problem is the cowboy routine is not tricking anyone.
'Well, well, what brings yet another vault dweller from that hole?' He said in a southern drawl
At first, i was as shocked as i can be. The old folks there said that vault 101 had been closed for 200 years.
Does that mean that they where lying?
But screw that, i need information. And that might be an interesting conversation when and if i find my father.
So i cut to the chase. 'His name is James, middle age, white hair and probably wearing a lab coat.
I NEED to find him.
Well boy, that stubborn look, you determined face, and straightforward attitude remind me of a guy like you.
I spotted him in Moriarty's Saloon.
Damn finest drinks in the Capital Wasteland. I just don't trust the owner.

POWER OF THE ATOM ARC

------------------------------------------------
There were two things i noticed.
1. An old guy preaching how a bomb will save us all.
2. A bomb that looks ready to go boom boom.
And 3, a shady character smiling as he looks at the bomb.
This seems like there is some more color in the settlement of good ol Megaton.

I asked the "sheriff" of this town about the bomb. And i never heard a story like this one.
He said the town was built around a live atomic bomb.
"We would've loved to disarm that piece of brahmin crap, but no one has the nerve.
And those church nuts would through a rebellion against us if we did"
I was a fair explosive expert me self. But i was more of an energy weapon's guy.
But this town needs to be saved. This might be one of the only successful human settlements out there
And i will not waste that.
as the night consumed the day, i decided, i will disarm it first thing tomorrow.

LONE WANDERER LOG # 2

Well, i examined the bomb. It uses a mediocre atomic core, easily disarmed with hands and half a brain.
But what scares me is with a pulse charge, and some brains, you can also rig it to go kaboom.
I can breathe easily, seeing that no one here has that pulse charge. I would die if someone here would rig this and kaboom.
And man, I'm an unlucky boy. I saw that man carrying a pulse charge, perfect for rigging bombs.
He was a man with a dirty suit, Chinese pistol, and a unique hat. He approached me with a smirk on his face.
Boy, your face said is all.
And you are the perfect one for a certain "special" job. He said in a sly voice.
You want me to rig the bomb. Isn't it obvious.
Well, just kiss your butt and run, my pistol feels loaded for crazy.
Wait, the guy said. Do you know Tennpeny Tower ? He said again
Dude, i have lived in a hole for 19 years, and you think i would know a place that sounds like a snob shelter.
This town is obsolete, and needs to be silenced.
500 caps, a luxury suite, and tennpeny tower citizenship.
What did that "cowboy" Simms offer you.
100 caps, a safehouse, and megaton citizenship.
See, compared to that, my other choice is much more, "appropriate".
Ugh, I'll think about it.
By the way, name's Burke

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE NEXT DAY

Now i don't know what to do.
There is the pampered evil snob path.
And the local goody two-shoes path.
I need to examine it again.
I've been thinking about it. I was able to convince them about raising the price.
Its now 500, or 1000.
Burke even showed me a tour last night.
It was a tall tower, and it was heavily guarded.
The place itself is decent. But i would have a hard time with my guts.
I just need some time to think.
So now, it all comes down to 2 things.
Kill Burke or Simms
And destroy this settlement or not.

AFTERMATH
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

After 5 days of restlessness, i decided what I'll do. Ill kill Burke
First, he's a [censored], and second, he actually told me to rig a HUMAN settlement and wipe it out of the face of the map.
Well, i rat him out to Simms and boy, he was pissed.
Boy, get ready to witness the wasteland's way of justice !
He ran as fast as he can.
I could barely catch up.
And so we reached a saloon in Megaton.
It looked run down, and at the same time, it was loaded with people.
And the final confrontation began.

hey dogman, it has merit, but needs a little more uh.., meat hung on the bones, so to speak :hehe:
This almost reads as a telegram, which as you know doesn't make for the greatest literature.

BUT.. and it's a big ole Jay Lo butt.. :hubbahubba:

since this is journal styled you might want to mix up the log entries a bit. Have a few that are nothing but well detailed discriptions of environments, with simple monologues he has with himself -people who talk to themselves in books and films are never crazy per se, they're just giving commentary..

:goodjob:

for the rest :)
