Any news related to this one?
How is the russian version advancing? Is there a valiant english version coordinator?
The whole project is very attracting, but my voice could have too the "foreigner effect" because I'm spanish, catalan in fact.
My english don't sound that bad either :embarrass:

Translating it takes one second, and is accurate enough that you can understand the majority of what is written.

You know, I would like this even if it was just the zooming (perhaps with a distant land toggle, or an increase in fog or something to cover the tear) and mouth movement. Since reading is so much faster, I just tend to skip through the speech in Oblivion. *chuckle*

This exists, even though I wouldn't listen to the voices... much, but this is one less thing that Oblivion can hold over Morrowind, the last one is a physics engine.

Anyone from the Russian community who could tell us if it's getting ready for a English version?

I don't see why this would not work with the english version of the game, considering all it does is play the current text with a voice synth.

In fact, I'm poking around with it right now (not in game yet, mind you). It handles english fine, but I have -no- idea where to find better voices for SAPI 5.

EDIT: Apparently there is a problem with Morrowind.cel. No idea if this is my ghetto laptop install or not. I'll try this out on the "big screen" later.

I disliked oblivion's but I so want this. You know I wouldn't even mind if they spoke russian, since the morrowind folk aren't actually speaking english in the first place. And they seem to be really decent actors if you check out their latest youtubes. It'll be like watching a foreign film and I'm sure you've all enjoyed at least one of those or an anime. The best thing is it gets rid of how everything freezes while in dialogue, and the close up, so even gibberish would be fine as long as there's a good variety. Someone mentioned that star wars game, not a good example, since the alien gibberish was repeated so much it was annoying.

Is there a way to just have it without any audio or anything? just face zoom when you talk to someone?

That would be nice, even without actual voice acting it's probably better than what the vanilla game has!

You'd prefer that over russian?

russian spoken by robots :)

personally, I'm mainly worried about performance. I feel like running a text2speech program in morrowind would slow things down a lot (especially when you start getting forcegreeted by dreamers all through balmora)

No. I don't know how much they have completed, but what I've seen so far seems better than the bethesda's job on oblivion. Though maybe it might be different if I actually understood what they said :liplick:

Wonderful! Honestly I'm loving the recent work coming from our brothers and sisters in Russia. From the Better Armors and Better Creatures to this. Wish I could help, but my spoken Russian is 10 years rusty, but I was at no time good at reading. Cheers to you mates.

That's funny, because I want a mod for Oblivion to make it a more Morrowind dialogue interface...
