Show only what has changed in GECK?

Post » Tue Aug 24, 2010 6:49 pm

I'll admit, I am not very proficient with the GECK program... (read: completely clueless)

I have been poking around with it attempting to see how things are done by loading certain mods and attempting to find what has been changed, but I cant for the life of me figure out how to display this.

Is there an easy way to show Only what has been changed/modified/added?
My searches have come up blank, so if this has already been answered, My apologies.

Added is simply. Use the All tab, then sort by FormID. Anything that doesn't starts with 00 is added.

In the GECK, any thing added or changed by the currently loaded 'active' Mod will have an asterisk after the number in the count column.

New things added by the currently loaded 'active' Mod will (in addition to the asterisk) have a unique xx00 first four digits of the FormID. The number in the GECK is determined by load order of the Mod(s) into the GECK, this is not the same four digits as seen in the game. This number is often called the Mod Index.

Existing game things (game objects) that a Mod has changed will have the standard same FormID, with 00xx as the first four digits, but will have the asterisk in the count column.

Use the file details button, it shows everything added or modified by the selected mod.

I use FO3edit and, FNVedit for there respective games. Run filter "Identical to master" this will show all changes, intentional or, not. Using this method allows easy access to remove unwanted changes. :brokencomputer:
