[REQ] No Intro Screens

Post » Wed Aug 25, 2010 9:55 pm

I have looked around and I have not seen a mod yet which will remove all of the intro/load screens when you start up the game, and go directly to the menu screen, without any interaction. There was one for FO3, but it doesn't seem to work for FONV. The closest I have come so far is to use a mod that makes all the intro screens black, and some .ini settings on top of that. However, when I do it this way, the game starts and goes very quickly to a black screen with just the cursor (GOOD)... but there I have to either click a mouse button, or hit a key, to continue (BAD). When I do this, the menu screen comes right up (GOOD).

What I would really like is for a mod, or combination of a mod and .ini settings, to take me straight to the menu screen with NO interaction by mouse or keyboard, and no intro/load screens shown before the menu screen.

I use some textures from this mod http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35457

...and these settings in the fallout.ini file:
fLoadingInitUpdateInterval=5.0000 To fLoadingInitUpdateInterval=0.0000
fMainMenuBkgdUpdateInterval=10.0000 To fMainMenuBkgdUpdateInterval=10000.0000

I don't know how it's done, but I'd like to second this.

Oh man, you don't know how annoying it is rapidly the clicking at the BETHESDA SOFTWORKS title card every time I boot up the damn game.

The way I have it setup now, as described in my previous post, it actually works pretty good. No more rapidly clicking or anything. Just wait a few seconds, cursor shows up. One click and you are at the menu. This is 10x better than the original for sure, at least IMO. However, it would be really nice not to have to do that one click/key tap to get to the menu. It might seem like a very small thing to do, and I suppose it is. Nevertheless, it is a slight annoyance, and the whole 'procedure' doesn't work as smooth as it could, as it should. :laugh:
