Player movement bug

Post » Fri Aug 27, 2010 9:10 am

Hello,

I recently reinstalled F3 and am encountering strange movement behavior that I do not recall when I first installed the game when it was released. Basically, my character sometimes slides for about half a meter instead of immediately coming to a full stop when I let go of the "e" key which is bound to move forward. This doesn't happen all the time but I'd say it happens once every 6 to 8 times I come to a stop. It is extremely noticeable and jarring, especially when I stop to pick up an item and then slide over the item... Anyone else experience this behavior? Any fix? My system specs:

Vista x64
E8600
4 Gigs DDR2 Ram
HD5850 (x2 in crossfire)

I played the game on the same PC when it was released and I don't recall this bug.

I don't know if this applies to FO 3 or not, but if you have a jostick, gamepad or other controller device connected, try unplugging it.

Yes I do have several controllers, I also thought about this, will try to unplug when I'm home later today.

Yes I tried unplugging the controllers and the sliding still occurs. So there is no fix? Maybe everyone experiences this but only a few people are sensitive to it? I definitely don't recall this issue when I installed the game previously... Hmmm... The only thing I changed between now and back then is the videocard, back then I had a 4870x2 and now 2x HD5850 in Crossfire. Strange.

I am experiencing the same issue, it is very annoying :( It really svcks when trying to sneak and just barely look around a corner, and you slide due to this bug and get caught by enemies...
