Necromancer Build Critique

Post » Fri Aug 27, 2010 6:52 pm

I want to try a necromancer build. The link below sums everything up as far as skills and whatnot.

http://www.linklost.com/occ/?Darius%20&Necromancer&0&2&5&1&0&1&0&1&2&3&4&6&16

Blade picked over Restoration as I don't see a Necromancer really healing themselves, but could use poisons on a nice dagger should anything get too close.

Only question I've really got is how well this might perform while using OOO. I'm pretty confident it would work in Vanilla.

Max level is comparatively low. I don't let things fly if they are under 50. But that's just me. I can see it working, but Im not too sure about OOO...

Restoration could be used for Necro's coz one spell effect suits the class perfectly: Absorb Attribute / Skill / ... But other than that, yesn't.

You'll probably have a hard time in the beginning, especially using OOO, since all but one of your major skills are magical ones. Blade balances it out a bit, but you're still going to have to fight to keep your character alive until he's strong enough as a mage to take on even mediocre creatures. Challenging, but most likely not impossible.

Other than that, looks pretty good to me. The maximum level really is quite low, but then again the level doesn't really matter that much after level 30, imho, if your character is good at what they do otherwise and is physically able to fight the opponents they come across.

Just so you know, Necromancer doesn't fit in the class name box.
I tried, ended up with Necromance. But this is a minor flaw if anything.
