quick question on installing bigger mods..

Post » Sun Aug 29, 2010 12:15 am

im talking about mods where you open the textures folder and get hundreds of files...

so combined with other mods in my MW data folder ive got thousands of files of different mods looking at me when I open textures..

Im about to install Annastia (landmass mod)

Can I put all the files in Annastia's 'texture' folder into a new folder called 'annastia textures' THEN put that into textures in morrowind data?

So If I want to delete it I only need to delete 1 file instead of sifting through god knows how many.

Wrye Mash can install and uninstall a mod completely with the click of a mouse button.

Create a .bsa for the files of Annastia's mod ;) (but only files not the .esp, .esm)
Don't forget to register your .bsa in your Morrowind.ini ^^

If the files aren't in a specific folder, just textures, then you should not manually create a folder in textures folder and put all that load of textures there. Where the files are, they must remain.

Exactly.
If you change the path of the textures, (by creating your own folder) they will not work in-game.

And who really cares if your Texture folder looks cluttered, it's not like company comes over and judges you on the mess.

As I say.

If I want to delete the mod I dont want a load of unnessasary files in my CPU.

Ive just deleted Silgrad tower, but am stuck with the silgrad tower load screen because of..

Well, creating folders wouldn't help you. Models won't get their right texure paths and that means, the meshes would be untextured. And I can bet, you would hate the world around you being white and colourless. :D

Another option is to use http://www.mentalelfz.com/tesfiles.html It will pull all the files for you.
