Is there a real need to have both? which is better?

I only use MCP for sneak toggle, though Ive just got a seperate mod for that.

Not only should you use both, you should use MCP for way more than Sneak Toggle. The Morrowind Patch Project (MPP) addresses things like quest errors, and inconsistencies in the game's content by providing records that modify the Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon .ESMs. The Morrowind Code Patch (MCP) addresses things like savegame corruption, crashes, and so forth (check the MCP thread for full details) by patching the Morrowind.exe file with the options that you choose.

It is good practice these days to be using both, but note with the Code Patch that all changes are optional. The bottom section in the patcher, the bugfixes, are extremely recommended. The upper sections address some gameplay issues, map size, and a number of other things. Again, see thread (or readme) for the importance of each.

Also, if you're going to be using a Sneak toggle, I'd recommend the Code Patch version over a dedicated mod... it just makes things simpler to have it built into the .exe, you can't break the script and it has no MWSE/MGE dependency.

Yes, there is a need for both. As you can read in their documentation, they address completely different areas of problems. The Code Patch addresses issues in the morrowind engine, and the MPP addresses problems in the Bethesda data files (master plugins).

I only use MCP for sneak toggle, though Ive just got a seperate mod for that.

There's a whole lot more to the MCP than that, the fix for the unarmored bug is quite nice as that was a very longstanding problem, the map expansion is great if you use Tamriel Rebuilt, the savegame corruption fix is essential, the delayed spell crash fix will prevent one type of "savegame corruption", the mercantile fix will prevent merchants from donning items you sell them, and well, all the rest is good too.

Yes. They do different thins so neither is better.

The MCP fixes problems with the games code. There are two types of issues addressed in the MCP. Fixes repair bugs in the code logic, these features should be considered to be required. The second type of issue addressed are the features. These address concerns that improve the enjoyment of the game but are not critical. Most players will want to play with all of the fixes enabled and most of the features enabled. Without the fixes enable Morrowind is very crash & corruption prone.

The MPP fixes data problems. Problems such as spelling errors, objects placed in the air or inside other objects and broken quests. The MPP is often considered to be the one essential mod that everyone should be using. It doesn't actually change anything in the game it only repairs what is already there.

what are the more obvious and beneficial parts of MPP? minor spelling errors I can overlook.

ie the bigger map and toggle sneak are quite overt benefits of MCP.

Also wyre mash... can I put all my mods into the program, and If I do a reinstall of morrowind will all my mods still be there without having copy and paste all them all again?

Lots of bug fixes. So, you know, quests won't glitch out on you. The fixes are extensively documented in the files that come with the mod.

Yes you can use it for all mods.
If you re-install MW, you can just make a back-up of your Data Files folder. That way you don't have to download them all again.

And I'll add my vote to the pile... Yes, use both MWCP and MWPP!!!
