Getting Prio To Actually Remember What I Set For Oblivion.ex

Post » Fri Sep 03, 2010 1:37 am

After reading a few posts, I saw that others with quad core systems were using a program called prio (http://www.prnwatch.com/prio.html) to make oblivion run on the lesser used cores so that other tasks affect oblivion less. The only way I know of to do this once prio is installed is to go to task manager once oblivion is launched and tell prio which cores I want it to use. Unfortunately, after I close oblivion, these settings are lost and replaced with a the default settings of use any cores. This would not be a big deal if oblivion handled alt-tabbing well at all in full screen mode, or I could stand playing in windowed mode where alt-tabbing works much better.

I imagine that those who use this utility have a way of having the settings saved, as I cant imagine that that many people actually enjoy playing in window mode. Could someone who uses this utility, please let me know how they get their settings saved? The save settings checkbox is checked at the bottom when I do all of my changes, so I didnt forget something that silly >_<

I just went to the website you listed.

Prio sets priority, but there is no mention on that page of it setting affinity. You may be expecting it to do something it doesn't do.

Maybe you should go back to where you read the original discussion.
