New computer, New game, New Questions

Alright guys, I got a new computer, and I'm getting started. I've got Wyre Mash and mlox up and running, and here's my mod list. Questions are in the list. I read readmes but I'm confused some places.

These aren't the exact measurements that IW recommends, but my own personal tweaks which I think work best with IW.

You should also create a Merged_Objects.esp with TESTool. Have it load last or second last with MashLists.

Do I need to merge leveled lists again after merging objects? I've never been clear on when I should merge leveled lists.

No, and you should actually deactivate Mash_Lists while you create Merged_Objects.
and vice versa.

Anybody know the answers to my other questions? I'm anxious to get started playing!

And also, dumb question incoming, whats the standard practice for adding a mod to a save in progress? And when do I recreate my Merged Objects and Leveled Lists? Every time I add a mod? Oh, and is TesTool still the program to use to clean mods or has something new came about?

Anytime you add a mod that adds new items/creatures to Leveled Lists, (or new Lists altogether) you should recreate MashedLists.
Recreate MergedObjects anytime you add a mod that alters pre-existing objects, just to make sure all changes are going to be incorporated into your game.

Be sure to Update your Save file after adding new mods, or recreating lists.

I still use TESTool on every esp. Just to clean out junk and possible GMSTs.
If I'm not familiar with the mod or modder I'll also open it in the CS (or even EE) to see if there's any dirty references that need removing.

I'm not sure on your BookRotate question, but I think you do need all 3 activated. (been a longtime since I used that mod)

I'm not sure on your BookRotate question, but I think you do need all 3 activated. (been a longtime since I used that mod)


If you have the two expansions use only the esm plus Bloodmoon versions.

I don't think that's necessary. As far as I can tell from reading testool.htm, Mashed_Lists and Merged_Objects would not contain any record types in common. Mashed_Lists only has LEVI/LEVC records, which would not appear in Merged_Objects. But I didn't get much sleep last night ... let me know if I made a mistake.

Well it's easier to tell when we see your Load order, as opposed to the alphabetical way that the ini lists them.
If you're unsure you can always run your list through http://code.google.com/p/mlox/wiki/Mlox
