Clothing/Race mods for vanilla bodies?

Post » Mon Sep 06, 2010 2:53 pm

I personally can't stand the better bodies mod, since it clips with EVERYTHING vanilla, and I don't like any BB clothing mods.

Are there any mods that add new clothing made for the original body mesh, or any Race mods that use the original body mesh? (I know the dwemer race is one)

racemods there are some, yes. just look in the race section of pes, especially the older ones.

clothingmods for the original bodies is nearly everything that uses hurdygurdy meshes like canadian ice robe replacer (HG-version), metalqueen boutique (let's you choose between the three body-shapes) and also some older mods.

Did you try the latest Better Bodies? It doesn't really clip at all. Either way, though, you should get Better Boddies (the latest ones) and then Better Clothes. Between them your NPCs will look fluid and the clothes will look high-res and fluid, but still loyal to the Morrowind originals.

Better clothes hardly fixes armor, if any. And metalqueen has the worst clothing choices ever :\

Can't say I've ever experienced an issue with clipping, so I can't really help you in the BB regards. And I don't know of any armor/clothing mods other than Better Clothes. Sorry. :(

http://www.psychodogstudios.com/betterclothes/ fixes all clipping with vanilla clothing. I have -never- noticed any clipping with it, and I'm pretty picky. As for armor, I haven't ever noticed any clipping with full sets. Obviously mixing armor will produce clipping the way it does in the vanilla game.

Your only option for the vanilla body meshes are very very old mods.

if u'd like i'm sure i could get u (with a bit of asking.) a pluginless BB my mate made:

when u wear the armor the body parts disappear, so it cant clip any longer, atleast thats what i think it does (semi-educated guess here)

A pluginless BB would not work any differently than the plugin version of BB (save that one would not need a plugin, naturally) ;) . One would have to actually edit and separate the body parts of the BB model to better achieve/emulate the way of working of the original segmentation of the vanilla bodies :D .

Also, pluginless bb doesn't replace the first person hand meshes iirc.

Though maybe his "mate" replaced the first person hands.

Mine does (so I am curious why you think that the 1st person hands would not be replaced; just like all the other parts, one has to rename the BB file that corresponds and then that part is replaced) ;).

Still, plugin or no, if the OP has a problem with BB and clipping, neither would solve the perceived issue :D

I just tried Metalqueen after you suggested it, I didn't like it at all.

As for clothing, It only fixes CLOTHES, not Armor. in BB, my calves will clip through netch boots or something similar. It also conflicts with other mods like Tamriel Rebuilt.

erm this is not really possible. it may look odd at the border between leg and boot but it is not possible to clip through. technically when you wear armor it is not worn over your body like clothing which is why the body clips through clothing when not compatible but armor changes the mesh. so if you wear netch boots you have an odd blending between body and armor but it cannot clip through. this may be avoided by wearing a complete armor.

why don't you like BB-Armor? Did you try some of http://www.gamesas.com/?showtopic=922035&hl=?

BB doesn't look right with the original armor. And I havn't seen any BB armor that didn't look rediculous.

that's why i linked wes' stuff. he is great in making armor. take a look at the screens that's why I linked the forum thread and not pes. his armor is never too revealing for the girls and not too overwhelming for the guys.

but maybe you can try to explain whta means ridiculous to you (like colors or shapes) so maybe i know of some mod. and i know many.
