Dogmeat goes with me everywhere, but he is my best friend, not my follower. As far as the other followers Charon is at the top of the list, then Jericho. Sorry, but i have found Butch to be somewhat lacking as a follower (he got killed within ten minutes. real time).

Fawkes, and RL-3 are the others I like. I have never used Star Paladan Cross or Clover.

Yeah, I'd count the armor as a follower of sorts.

Does RL-3's accuracy improve as he levels up (I don't have BS yet)? Because I'm quite serious, I saw him get reduced to scrap by a Robobrain because it was hitting at a distance, and RL-3 wasn't. He was a great follower early on, but once I got up to about level 10 or 11, I was reloading right and left just to keep him with me. I was tempted to say forget it, scav him for scrap and flamer fuel, and press on alone. But the game got accidentally erased before I got to that point.

I love Charon. I always get Dogmeat too, but he stays at home.

I always go solo. Companions are annoying, unless you set them to essential and they're a hot chick!

Clover is my absolute favorite.I like playing a very evil female character and dress those two hot chicks in
Pitt-Raiders costumes.Clover are weak yes,- but I never get tired of her crayzyness.Give her a Fatman, and listen
her shout "I need help with this one" while attacked by a Bloatfly, and then take it out with a mininuke :nuke: .

I find him very powerful as I level up, and I've not managed to lose him yet. At level 30 he feels like a floating tank (defeated a behemoth without dogmeat help), the noise he made when being smacked around sounded very unhealthy and he spun about about each time the behemoth hydrant clobbered him, but it sounded worse than it was and the old bot didnt take that much damage in the end. The main problem with his plasma gun I find is clipping scenary when the targets are above or below us, on level ground against an enemy that isn't running he seems quite accurate (not sure if this has improved as I leveled up though). He also has decent storage capacity (don't ask me where he sticks it.. I haven't worked that 1 out yet! ).

I find it fun having RL3 and the medic power armor at same time, sounds like I have a unit of squaddies by my side!

Fawkes can be fun, but boring as he tends to blast everything with his gl before i even unholster a weapon.

ha! take that green bastard to tacoma park or les enfants plaza on very hard...
IT (fawkes) won't last long.

Jericho and Butch are part of my Spec Ops team.

Do you have mods that decrease Fawkes health, or just vanilla? broken steel makes him a freaking sponge. I play on very hard and both he and dogmeat have alone tanked behemoths without losing even 1/4 of their health while I get 1shotted :meh:

guess I shoulda clarified..

~level 30 with MMM increase/increase spawn
~no mods to decrease fawkes health

that green bastard marches right into the thick of it and dies shortly thereafter.
whereas Jericho & Butch take cover and live to see another day.

My personal preference is Sydney, even if she only follows you for a short spell. I just like her better than most of the others.

I never really have much opportunity to fight alongside Syd. When I'm in the archives, I just power up a Stealth Boy and creep as far through the robots as I can. If I don't make it all the way, I pop some Med-X and run for it. Then, once I give Button the ink, I can just leisurely retrace my steps. That way, I don't feel bad about killing all the robots and leaving the Declaration unprotected.
