Post » Thu Sep 09, 2010 12:40 am

When i start TES Construction Set and load the Oblivion.esm Data, it goes to between 2-15% and then it crashes( using Windows 7 home premium 64 bit), But if i run it in Compatibility mode with Windows XP it gets to 58% and crashes. Does anyone know how i can Get it to load fully and stop crashing

In some other threads I found this "solutions":
  • Don't install Oblivion/Construction Set into "Win-Drive:\Programe Files(x86)"(is it correct written? i have german version, sry)
  • If you have an micro or headset plug it in

Are you sure it crashes? Sometimes it needs a little bit time before it goes on with loading...
What happens if you try to load a mod, which depends on Oblivion.esm(should crash too)?

Is it a crash or a freeze? There's a difference between that.

It'll always freeze a bit. wait 5 minutes max (unless you have an old pc) and don't click anywhere on the program! I found that once I did and I closed as if it was crashed. Vista (didn't do it with 7, but I'm not really willing to test out.) simply crashed it all the time as if it recognised it as an error when it froze after that. A reinstall of CS fixed it. Still, have some patience. If it stays frozen even after these things there might be an issue with the mods you have installed. (Some .esp can crash CS even before you load a thing.)

Well on Windows 7 i get a pop up saying TES Construction Set has stopped working, Windows can check online for a solution to the problem, would you like to check online or close the program

Ill try waiting and also ill try what _DICE_ said and see if it works

thanks guys for your help even if it doesnt work

EDIT: I tried all of them, none of them worked, i unplugged my microphone, i installed the program somewhere else, and even wait 5 minutes with the pop-up up. Any other Ideas?

Right click, run as admin? Maybe UAC blocks more than just the directory.
(The microphone-bug is actually the case of it not having plugged-in, but that's at dialogue, I don't think it'll effect the start (although you never know.))
