Modding Problem for fallout 2

Post » Thu Sep 09, 2010 10:44 am

OKay first off if this is in the wrong section im sorry. I know that there is a fallout 3 mods section but, I figured that this would be a better place for a fallout 2 modding question.

Now my problem is that I have the 1.02 patch installed and alot of my mods won't work because of the patch00000 in my patch folder. The one mod says to delete this but I can't becasue I dont have that option. What can i do?

There's no way around it; you really need to delete it. Why can you not do so?

If you're on vista/win 7, want to use mods and have installed fallout to the program files folder, then my advice is to uninstall it and reinstall it somewhere else. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches.

Well i've tried to delete it off but it won't. I figure i can't because it's a read-only but, I went and unchecked the read-only and it told me that becasue it's written onto the cd it can't be deleted. I unistalled fallout 2 ad reinstalled it but i put if back in the same spot so ill try what you said out.

Wait, you're trying to delete it from the CD?

The one you need to delete is the one in the folder you installed fallout 2 to. If you've only done a minimal install and are running from the CD, you'll need to do a full install.
