So dissapointed of this game....

Im a 30 year old gamer.
I recently starting working again, and the company that employed me is basically hiring college graduates for highschool dropout salary... (im a college graduate)
Also ive been working 12hr shifts (some days even 14 or 16hrs) from Monday to Saturday and going to work every other Sunday...

And the very little free time ive had, ive spent between seeing my GF on the weekends (dropping her off early arguing im tired because of the new job, and then play NV all night), and playing Fallout New Vegas on weekdays... basically all of my free time since the game came out, im an explorer and a hoarder, i check every locker and look around every corner... so that makes me crawl through the missions :s

And then after around 20hrs of play... I got the corrupted, DLC asking, game breaking Save Bug...

What The *uck?

Did i just spend the very little freetime i had all this time for this *HIT to happen???

This svcks big time... and it hurts me knowing that i wasted so so so much time...

If the patch doesnt fix the DLC asking problem so that the old saves can be continued from... well i just wont come back to play this... worst Fallout experience ever.

that svcks man, i recently started working fulltime again, that combined with working out and a bugged NV = one tired and cranky mofo. Im approaching the 25 hour mark and i am scared of the save bug

I have sympathy for you, there are other games out there for xbox360 that you can play.

I am 42 yrs old and have been playing computer/console games since mid 80s. Every game regardless of its genre has some problems or exploits. There were no patch back in the pre-Internet days and we just have to live with it. There are games that were totally unplayable in computer/console games history and this is not one of it.

Corrupting save games is not acceptable but I doubt it affects 100% of the players. Everybody seems to have his/her own theory on where/how/when the "save game corruption" occurs. Until somebody on their (Bethesda / Obsidian) side can replicate this or other major bugs, they cannot fix it. Just because someone in the forum say something means absolutely nothing for their developers to work with. I know that because I am a software developer as well. Any rush to fix it based on guesses will result in more bugs. Even if they would have released a Beta version, it will be so trimmed down that it will not cover all the different paths/variations you can have in the full version. A beta release will also gives hackers and/or competitors too much information ahead of the full release, not a good business practice.

Tell me about it I think since I started laying bethesda games I had experienced corrupt save files it seems it's a glitch they can't fix correctly. This game has countless bugs, if you read one of the patch releases it said it fixed over 200 bugs. 200! and it's still buggy damn how many are there.

Just got back from work a 12 hr shift, 6am to 6pm, i have a family thing (hers) with my GF on the weekend so im covered on that front... but RIGHT NOW all i want to do is PLAY FALLOUT NEW VEGAS!!!

Knowing i cant or better yet, that i WONT.

here is why:

My last usable save is 5hr behind, thats what i thought i advanced Yesterday before i noticed the Save Bug, i had a earlier working save like 3hrs in that i accidentally overwrote, sadly the one i overwrote it with, had catched the bug somewhere along the way...

So im thinking its almost 7pm, if i play 3 hours and sneak in dinner while playing, i can get to bed around 10 and get my 7hr beauty sleep... but that wont happen, yesterday i tried that and i ended up playing for over 5 hours, slept something like 4hrs and went to work another 12hr shift...

If ill have to keep saving/loading every 15-20 minutes im gonna waste easily 1hr doing that...
(as i understand it, you need to save then load that save to check if it loads, and that means you have to save/load EVERYTIME to try and catch a random GAME BREAKING bug before it makes too much damage)

So i would have to waste my entire thursday and fridays free time just trying to catch up.

Thats too much time to ask someone with so little of it.

---------------------------------------------
As i really dont have my hopes up for a fix for this (maybe they will fix new corrupted save files, i dont think they will make old saves usable again), this is my suggestion... : add a Game Saving mode where AutoSave actually Saves to a New Slot... there is no way im playing this with the imminent danger of it ever happening again.

Not to mention the fact that the "patch" actually broke some side quests, and created new bugs.

That said, what you can play of the game is freaking amazing,
It's better on the PC too, from what I've seen, which is understandable, this IS a PC optimized game after all.
