I decided to wander around outside of the town. I went in 5 or 6 random dungeons in the area (outside of the city) and wanted to see how far I could go, so I walked north for probably an hour and still haven't hit any boundaries, just passing temple after temple, miscellaneous farm houses and people wandering about. So my question is.. is the town just SO huge that I haven't reached the edge of it yet? Or, is all of this information randomly generated (meaning if I would try to make a map of it, it would never end, I'd just keep discovering new stuff)
Or, is it looped? I'm so confused. Is it possible to walk from one town to another? Is it possible to travel from one province to another just by walking? If all of this is randomly generated, then would I experience different buildings if I back tracked all the way back to the town I started from? I was under the impression that it was only the many caves/dungeons that were randomly laid out, but the landscape (the map, at least) was always the same.
Would the "map" (outside of the city) be different every time you play the game? Would it be possible to make a map?
