Why hasn't kavatch been rebuilt?

Post » Mon Sep 13, 2010 7:36 am

It's been years since I first won the battle for Kavatch and the living residents are still outside the city living in tents. Sort of seems like the creators of oblivion got lazy. Anybody know of any good mods to make the city new again :) ?

I am sure the reason was the release date. They had no time left to rebuild Kvatch. It's the same reason why Sutch was scrapped.

Anybody know of any good mods to make the city new again ?

Because it wasn't included in the game, probably due to time restraints.

I second FallenWizard, Kvatch Rebuilt is an excellent mod for this. :)

It's more than that. It's going to take years to rebuild Kvatch. How long do you play a character? I think 200 days is about as long as I've ever gone....

Quite, they wouldn't even get the Environmental Impact Study done in that short a time. Let alone putting the construction out to tender.

Are you kidding? They'd still be trying to decide on an architect,

Someone might, however, at least put out the fires and while they're at it the ones in the Bruma Mages Guild.

They have to decide where to locate the new fire department in Kvatch first, then train the new firemen, as the old crew is dead...... Not to mention the difficulty of securing the proper permits, seeing as how all of those departments have been depopulated as well...... It'll probably be a year before anyone can even consider putting out fires........ :D

There is a mod that puts out the fires Dousing the Flames. Haven't used it myself, but others have reported good results.

I think it's day 343 in my game so if oblivion days are anywhere close to our days, it seems like they should at least put the fires out hahhaha.

bit OT, but has anybody ever wondered why it always seems to be raining in and around kvatch and yet the fires still burn?

Have you ever lit a proper fire outside and watched it while it rains? If something burns with enough heat it will stay lit even through bad weather. Not that I'm a pyromanic or something.

In the early 1970's some cost accountian crizied the city of new york city for sent 2 million dollar to paint the Brooklyn briged which only cost 250,000 dollar to built in 1870. Cost accountian only look at history cost as record in bookkeeping report not at replacement cost. To rebuilt that same bridge in 1970's would have cost 1 billion dollar. than take 10 year to built compare to 7 months it took in 1870.

Second (or third, fourth, fifth, whatever) the Kvatch Rebuilt mod. Very well done. Biggest difference between 1870s and 1970s? Meetings. Gotta stop and have a meeting about whether we should stop and have a meeting to decide whether something should be on the agenda for the next meeting.
