I'll be interested to see what Obsidian does with the Wheel of Time series. Through the years, we've received a number of suggestions to make a WoT game.
If you do decide to pick up a new IP, please do Firefly. Space Cowboys FTW!

While the first books of Wheel of Time were good, the later ones(books 5 and beyond), were not.
And when Jordan put down his pen for good, he had already killed off the series several books ago...
If Beth procured the licence, and produced a game of it, I'd be willing to go out on a limb and declare it dead before it hit the ground.
It might be possible to to make a good game , gameplay-wise, out of it, but the setting of WoT is not terribly interesting, Any developer will surely be strangled by red tape, denying them the leeway to make the world their own, and thus make it interesting.
Of course, I could be wrong. But I don't think I am. So I really don't want to see a WoT-game. Specially by Bethesda.
Edit: And if we get to make wishes.. Mutant Chronicles! :gun: (the original one, not the crappy movie)
